Based on experience, di na ako nakapagreview bago magexam kasi super busy sa work. Same with hubby. We only relied on basic tips from friends. In God's grace nakapasa naman kami pareho with both OBS 8 & 7 and above marks on all four bands. The key is prayers, relaxed mind and using english as your everyday language (siguro dahil overseas kami nagwowork)

BEFORE THE EXAM
Sleep well the night before the exam date.
Eat your breakfast and relax your mind on the actual exam day.
IELTS EXAM
• There are four components namely: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
• This will be done in 2 separate dates having 3 components in 1 day and Speaking in other day.
• You will be given certain time to finish each components.
You will have the question and answer sheet right away, so you have time to review them.
• Pointers on Reading and Listening
o make some notes, extra sheet will be provided for that.
o some questions have choices but some are fill in the blanks. the latter requires answer in one or two words (or number) only (no more than 2 words)
• Pointers on Writing
o You will be given 2 parts, one is in form of a letter and the other is an editorial
o do not use bullet, number or list forms.
o Make it in 3 or more paragraphs. First paragraph should be about the topic or your intention of writing, second paragraph should explain the topic, third should be the conclusion.
o do not abbreviate
o use synonyms if possible
o use words like, To start with, Moreover, Furthermore, In conclusion
o Avoid redundant sentences or words.
o Always check your grammar, spelling and punctuation marks.
o Gather your thoughts and make a stand or a solid opinion of the topic.
o write neatly
• Pointers on Speaking.
o You will be given 3 parts, first is a usual conversation, will be asked more about yourself, second is say anything about a given topic in 3minutes, third is you will be asked follow up questions about the second part.
o Do not try to have an accent, speak naturally.
o Avoid long pause, stuttering, repetition of words or sentences
o Look in the eye of your interviewer
o Relax, if you need to move your hands then do so
o speak louder and with confidence
o Avoid statements that needs affirmation, remember the interviewer will not agree nor disagree
o No right or wrong answer. They are only after your way of speaking and grammar.
