Question po: Is it a true statement that Academic Writing topics are more difficult than General Wrting topics?

@btarroja213 based sa mga nabasa ko sa Cambridge reviewers yes. Pero mas mataas ang passing mark ng GT compared sa Academic. Like sa reading sa GT in order to have 7.0 you have to score at least 34/40 pero sa Academic pag naka 30/40 band 7.0 na.

Hi @cylin, you requested that I post the result of my re-mark. I am delighted to inform you that my scores in both W and S are successfully bumped up 🙂 Writing (from 6.5 to 7.0) and Speaking (6.5 to 8.0). Examiners are human and may not have assessed a candidate accurately. Requesting for a re-mark (or EOR) does work wonders in some cases when a more senior examiner reviews your materials. Kailangan mo lang talagang paniwalaan ang sarili mo, ang proseso at maghintay ng matagal (mga 10 weeks inabot for me bago ko na natanggap updated TRF), but it's all worth it. The cost of re-mark will be refunded kapag positibo ang resulta. Sobrang saya ko sa naging outcome 🙂 I'm posting this narin para in a way makatulong sa iba na tulad kong nag-aalinlangan din noon. Not many people kasi in this forum explored this option at nahirapan din akong mag-decide dati dahil kaunti lang success cases na nakikita ko.

Wow! Congratulations @chiko_au! That's good news! EOI stage ka na.

Well, if only I could turn back time, I wish I did not give up when I got my result. I was totally devastated at that time, more so when I read that there's a slim chance in getting a positive result when you ask for both W/S tests. And when I decided to give it a go, it was too late, time has elapsed. Anyway, I'm happy for you.

Just an observation, mas mahahaba ang passages sa academic reading kesa GT, i have tried couple of mock tests i end up 28/40 sa academic or a bit lesser.

Guys question lang po sana, just got my IELTS results today and I'm planning to re-mark po yung Writing and magpa schedule ng retake at the same time. Ask ko lang po if may rule ba na against sa ganitong setup? Ask ko lang din po sana if for example na mas mataas yung makuhang score ng retake compare sa re-mark, pwede ba natin disregard yung re-mark and just use the retake score? Thanks po in advance.

@uchiha, pagkakaalam ko walang bearing kung latest ba o hindi ang IELTS na ipapasa mo. Basta meron ka nang result na pasado (all 7 and above), you can use that. I did exactly what you are planning. After I failed the 1st exam, I immediately applied for re-mark at the same time booked my 2nd exam. Sigurista. Buti nagpa-remark ako kasi nag-fail ulit ako sa 2nd exam at sumabit pa ang Listening na ok na nung 1st exam ko. Kung confident ka na you did well naman sa Writing mo, hindi masama magpa-remark dahil mare-refund mo naman yung fee kpag nagbago score mo.
