Some people think that personal happiness is directly related to economic success. Others argue that happiness depends on completely different factors. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
In this world, happiness is defined in so many ways. Many people believe that having monetary riches give them satisfaction in life. With a substantial amount of money, they get the luxury to purchase the things that others struggle to have. They could certainly construct a palatial house and travel within and outside the country.
Moreover, other viewed that having sufficient resources do not need to have a regular job since affluent people have businesses of their own which create leverage for themselves to be able to establish the life they want.
On the other hand, amidst all these worldly possessions, I believe that contentment relies on other factors. Happiness is found in the unity and love that bind family and clan members. Seeing family members going to church together and then sit down for a meal in an affordable restaurant build fulfillment to our lives.
Good health is another factor that makes me happy. Having a stress free feeling regarding our wellbeing surpasses all the material riches and travels that we can ever imagine. Good physical condition contributes to a joyful life as being free from any ailments can make our life more relaxed. Without diseases to worry about, we can enjoy life to the fullest.
In my experience, my family’s connection with a congregation influenced and taught us to be contented with what we have, live a simple life and will not struggle for material things, bring in so much joy and inner peace which material things could not provide.
In conclusion, I believe that economic success does not automatically result to happiness, rather it depends on having a close knit family, good health and good relationship with our Creator. They do not have a price tag. And most importantly, they are free.
