Share ko lang po some tips based from our experience π
(mraming mraming salamat din s mga ngppost sa forum na to na naging guide namin)
(note: may knya knyang tips po ang marami, ni-list ko po ung mga ginawa nmin)
gather resources:
get the previous ielts exam guide with cd (1-9). meron sa bookstore nung mga latest edition or search google for previous ielts exam soft copies (1-9). hanapin nyo po ung may audio na ksama for download. may mga nagpost din d2 s forum ng links (thanks s knila)
we bought the official ielts cambridge guide book (mas makapal na book) mahal sya pero worth it po yung book kc ituturo talaga sa yo ung format ng exam, expected way to answer each question ska pano ka mkakakuha ng mas mataas na score for each area. may kasamang cd po sya for practice. (eto po ung itsura nya.. luckily meron sya sa bookstore na malapit sa min http://www.amazon.com/Official-Cambridge-Students-Answers-DVD-ROM/dp/1107620694)
kung may printer kyo, better to print yung soft copy ng reading test pra masanay kyo sa way ng pag answer ng questions.
listening:
maliban po sa ielts audio practice sets, makakatulong din po ung pakikinig sa english news pra masanay po kyo sa british accent/pronunciation π for example, while at work, BBC news po yung pinapakinggan ko, tigil muna yung music.
speaking:
dun sa official cambridge guide cd, me video kung pano nila niggrade ung speaking exam. me examples dun nung kung pano ng-answer ung interviewee tpos kung ano ung naging grade nya. so malalaman nyo dun kung ano dapat iwasan or gawin during interview.
may mga forum na pinag uusapan nila ung lumabas na question sa ielts speaking exam nila for that day. while preparing for the exam, ni-compile ko yung mga naging questions sa kanila + ung galing sa ielts books. May isang topic dun s forum na lumitaw sa interview question ko kahit na mtagal na question na sya (hindi yun ung exact question pero yung topic is preho kya nakatulong hehe).
luckily my husband is a native english speaker (though ngtest p rin sya for points). pag nsa labas kami or bus or train or ngddate- magbbigay sya ng speaking question na nacompile nmin galing sa book or forums tpos kelangan ko sagutin 'naturally' ung prang kwentuhan lang pero dapat me substance (ska correct grammar hehe). if me ksama kyo sa bahay, ask kyo na sya magtnong ng questions, iba kc ung me actual na kausap hehehe.

nbasa ko sa forum na to na usually mas mahirap yung questions nang pang academic at me mga previous tips d2 sa pinoyau na aralin nyo rin yung academic questions khit na general training lang kukunin nyo. di yun joke... totoo yun! pagnsanay kyo sa academic questions, chicken n lang yung general training π so invest time to practice both academic and general training reading questions.
writing:
practice practice practice. eto kc yung weakness ko kya pag uwi after work, practice huhuhu. If me kakilala kyong pde mag-proofread, wag kyo mahiya na magpareview π. basa-basa rin kyo ng dyaryo pra mkakuha kyo ng ideas regarding certain topic. Dun sa cambridge book, me guide sila kung pano kyo magform ng ideas ska pano mapahaba ung answer nyo hehe (sensya na nirecommend ko tlga ung book)
dedicate some time to study. dahil mejo kabado kmi sa outcome, nagdedicate kmi ng 2 months sa pagrereview hehe. for example, mon, wed, fri aral kmi ng reading, listening after work tpos tues, thurs, sat writing + speaking. mga 2 hrs each day ->OA lang tlga. i-practice nyo rin yung based sa time limit of each exam.
also khit na native english speaker (like my hubby), me times na ngkakamali pa rin sa mga sample questions (me mga tricky n questions kc haha). kya practice tlga
lastly, pray pray pray.. kaya yan! π π
eto pla yung outcome, Thank God, mejo pumasa naman π
