Sa mga mag rereview ng IELTS, try nyo IELTS Advantage, recommended by ERT. Very effective sya sa writing academic. Nag improve score ko from 6.5 to 7.5 sa writing at from 7 to 9 sa reading. Sumablay lang me sa listening, coz I missed the recording. Anyways, try lang ng try, never give up, dream high....

I would like to share with you the way I achieved IELTS 8.0 in 3 months.

For improving my vocabulary, I chose English Vocabulary in Use (upper-intermediate), English Collocations in Use

For Grammar, I learnt a lot from this excellent book: English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy, Advanced Grammar in Use

For Reading, I polished up my Reading skills by reading articles from Your IELTS Reading Skills by Sam McCarter, practicing IELTS Reading Recent Actual Test Vol 1, 2

For Writing, I'm a fan of these books: Improve Your IELTS Writing Skills by Sam McCarter, Write Right and Visuals by Gabi Duigu. I learnt most from this blog: ieltsmaterial.com for IELTS Writing Task 2 (& I got 8.0 for Writing)

For Listening, I chose IELTS Listening Recent Actual Tests Vol 1,2

For Practice Tests, I downloaded Cambridge series 1- 10 and practiced every single day

For IELTS tips, strategies and guides, I highly recommend IELTS Target Band 7: How to maximise your score and The official cambridge guide to IELTS , new insight into IELTS

@stewart pwede rin kahit google lang. kasi ung mga sample exercises, may pattern siya. dati, ung mindset ko was to answer purely on english rules and skills, pero na-realize ko na na strategy is also as important. at ung pagsagot sandamakmak na sample exams ang nakatulong dito. for reference, band 7 ako first take (hindi nagreview, overconfident lang). tapos, second take ay band 8 (with 9 sa ibang modules).

@prcand thanks po. para po sa inyo, ano po mas okay na pag exam-an? IDP or BC. di ko po alam kasi kung alin jan ang pipiliin ko. thankyou po.

both exams ko ay under IDP eh... so di ako ang best person to compare the two. pero ang masasabi ko for a fact ay sa speaking and writing sila pwede magkatalo (reading/listening, same lang naman). eitherway, mas comfortable ako pag ang examiner ay native english speaker, kasi nag-aadjust english level ko based kung sino ang kausap ko. meaning, if expert speaker, nagle-level up din ako. if medyo di gaano magaling, nahihila ako pababa LOL

Hi, Good Day! baka meron po dito na nakaexperience na to lodge a PR visa na more than two years na yung IELTS nila, but less than three years? So in my IELTS result - which i took two years ago, says it's valid for two years, but I read some where that Immi accepts IELTS results within the last 36 months. I would just like to know if there were recently lodged application who had similar situation? my IELTS is valid till May 2016, however we will not be able to lodge my application until the Employer Nomination has been approved - and the decision will not be made till around June/July. I was wondering if i still need to sit for another round of exam.

This is my take on your issue, maybe others can correct me if I'm wrong: Even if IMMI accepts your IELTS result, it still doesn't change the fact that your Test Result Form (TRF) is only valid for <b>two years</b>. There might be a problem in the long run with an expired TRF, because the case officer assigned to your application will have to validate your TRF. So it might be safer to just retake the exam.

hello!! masayang araw po. magtetake po ako ng IELTS BC sa june 25. isa po sa requirements eh passport or PRC id. mag paparenew pa lang po kasi ako ng PRC ID ko. so ang sinubmit ko po eh yung passport ko as my national ID. kaso di ko po napansin na bawal po pala may butas ng staplers. eh nanggaling po ako ng japan, twice na po as part of my work eh nilagyan lagyan po ng staplers upon entry sa airport, at yung mga tax free items na binili ko, iniaattach yung receipt sa passport at may stapler. so meron pong mga butas butas yung passport pages ko. ano po ba dapat kong gawin? d na po kaya ako makakatake ng exam?

@stewart i think ung "butas" na ni-refer dito as part of their requirements is ung sa cover page. ung butas na ginagawa nila sa lumang passport mo pag meron ka ng renewed one.

may butas din ung akin from staples sa japan and US (pag land border crossing entry mo, may papel sila na ini-attach), pero sa passport pages to. at hindi problema to. kasi bio page lang chini-check nila

Sino nakapag exam ng IELTS last May 21, 2016? What's your take on it guys? Medyo nakulangan ako ng time dun sa academic reading about Sherlock Holmes 🙁
