financial capacity of partner visa sponsor?

Hello everyone,

I am a permanent resident holder, and have stayed and worked in Australia for one year.

My work was only temporary as I was a reliever for a regular employee who was on maternity leave.

I was able to save a small amount on my AU savings account.

I am now in Manila, and about to get married.

I plan to look for work when I go back to Australia in about a month or two.

My question for sponsors of partner visa, is that do I need to have a regular work to be able to sponsor? Or can I apply my partner for a partner visa immediately after the wedding, even if I am not yet working?

Will appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

@risa_c Hi po. Tumawag ako sa DIAC kanina same tayo PR ako pero 4 months palang ako dito at magsstart palang ako magwork .tinanong ko kung pde ko na ba isponsor wife ko kahit magsisimula palang ako at 4 months palang dito, sabi nila ok lang daw as long na PR na ko. tinanong ko kung di ba iqquestion yun for financial capability ng sponsor, sabi nila, pdeng humingi ang CO ng proof pero more likely di na daw. try mo din sila tawagan para sure.

hello po..... its been a while since last na naglogin ako dito... may tatanong lng din po sana me...i just got married here in Sydney few months ago and im a PR upon my entry 2 years ago, may kelangan po ba me iupdate sa DIAC about sa change ng marital status ko? and mandatory po ba na magpalit na agad me ng passport since married na po ako?

changing your surname is your choice... even in the philippines, no one can force you to change your name kung ayaw mo.

having said that, my wife (whom i married in 2011) is still using her family name by choice.

no issues, no dramas

you can try emailing your CO about your change in marital status but i reckon they don't care already at this stage.
