If you are having doubts @peach17, I would suggest you just have it CTC'ed - i guess it would not cost too much to do this compared to say "what if" magkaproblema ka sa visa application mo diba?

My thoughts lang, lodging a visa cost a lot of money... Magka CTC will probably be Php150 at most - just invest on the Php150 for peace of mind I would say IF you are in doubts...

For Visa 189/489: from the 3000 visa invitations last Dec 17 2012.. approx 1000 are with EOI 60 pts.

For Visa 190: we all know that, once approved with SS, you will receive an automatic visa invitation.

@katlin924 - to add to the above; it is safe to say that if you have 65pts and up, you will be given an invitation immediately on the next cycle for invitation. if you have 60pts naman, it will be a waiting game as to when you will get your invite.

I am currently in the process of preparing for my SkillSelect (Skilled Independent) application and balak ko na mag-take ng IELTS exam and magpa-assess sa Engineers Australia for Electronics Engineer.

BSECE ako from PLM, >10 years work experience as Product/Test Engineer sa semicon...

May tanong lang sana ako, nung nire-review ko yung SkillSelect Booklet6... yung section ng "Points for Educational Qualifications - bachelor qualification, awarded by an overseas educational institution of a recognised standard".

Covered ba sya ng assessment ng Engineers Australia? Kapag ba na-assess ng EA na equivalent to Professional Engineer yung qualifications ko, considered na rin na "recognised standard" yung Bachelors degree ko from PLM, and pwede kong i-claim yung Points for Educational Qualifications?

@aussiestotle - if you are applying for EA, make sure to select the following:

1) standard assessment for your qualification (600AUD), they will provide the result whether your PLM degree is comparable to AU Degree (which you can claim 15pts), or if it is comparable to AU diploma (which you can claim only 10pts). Only your result can tell wether it is degree or diploma level.. but you can ask someone from the same school with the same degree, kung anung result sa kanila.. please check "Engineers Corner" thread.

2) Additional assessment for your work experience (250AUD) - they will provide opinion on how many years of your work experience are related to your nominated occupation.. which will also be the basis for claiming points for your work experience..

yes you can select as many visa options as you want..

at the end of the EOI, you will get a summary kung anu ang mga points mo per visa type..

example:

Visa 189: 60 pts

Visa 190: 60 + 5 SS pts = 65pts

of course, make sure na may atleast 60 pts ka para mainvite..

or atleast 55 pts + 5 pts for SS for the Visa 190...

and then sympre, kung kailangan mo magapply ng SS, you will apply on the state website..

@lock_code2004 Grabe naman yung sa Engineer's assessment! Bakit di pa kasali ang work experience dun sa una? Gastos 🙁 Buti sa ACS meron dun ung AQF chorva tpos yung years of experience. So makita kagad ng DIAC yung educ + work experience.

Hi good morning guys. I found this forum very helpful. I have a few questions with regarding my application.

DIAC's definition of "closely related employment" to the nominated occupation. DIAC defines closely related employment as paid employment of at least 40 hours per fortnight in an occupation in the same Unit Group of ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations) as the nominated occupation. This implies that the employment should be at the same skill level as the nominated occupation and should draw on a similar skill set and subject matter. Usually closely related employment is in the same industry. The employment must also match the lead statement in ANZSCO for the nominated occupation.

nalilito talaga ako sa same unit group ng ANZSCO 🙁

For example yung Pharmacist (yun ang unit group) may subsections siya (Retail, Hospital, Industrial) kung ang nominated occupation mo is Retail Pharmacist; automatic hindi ba nila ica-count ung experience mo sa Hospital or Industrial para makuha mo yung points sa GSM?

Paano pag sinabi talaga ng assessing authority (Australian Pharmacy Council) na wala kang experience as Retail Pharmacist? Pero it's up to the DIAC pa rin to decide if bibigyan ka ng points (positive scripting lang ba un at wag ka na dapat umasa sa points?)

Ayoko kasi magfile ng application tapos denied lang din ung visa tapos non-refundable pa ung 3060 AUD.

At ano po ba ung number ng DIAC na pwede tawagan from the Philippines?

tama po, kung anu man po ang work experience nyo as a Pharmacist, it will be considered in your total work experience...

based on your submitted documents (COE and Job Descriptions), your assessing authority (APC) will be able to provide opinion kung reletad/closely related po ang work experience nyo sa unit group. it will be stated in the assessment result, which will be the basis of DIAC in awarding points..

So example ang nominated mo ay Retail Pharmacist, most of your work experience should demonstrate this, tapos meron kayong ibang work exp sa Hospital and Industrial, at may proof naman kayo (COE+JD, payslip), then icoconsider po yan ng APC at DIAC..

of course, make sure na ang mga documents nyo, especially ang COE+JD ay aligned sa definition ng nominated occupation nyo... for sure nabasa nyo na ang link below..

ah okay.. personal opinion po, clear nmn po ang definition ng ANZSCO kung ano ang Pharmacist.. if you believe na covered yun ng job description nyo, at pumasa kayo skills at educational qualification ng APC, then ma-credit lahat yan ng DIAC..

when i say "clear naman ang definition ng Pharmacist", i mean wala naman kayong kaparehong job.. unlike ung mga IT, medyo overlapping ang mga defintion ng IT analysts...

so i think, kung anu man ang experience nyo sa tatlong specialization ng Pharmacist yan, at nakalagay naman po sa DIAC kung anu ang definition nila ng related/closely related, then walang problema...
