@bronapple143, it is not just the money though.
What is the quality of life in Manila?
Think about it.
What is the quality of the air in Manila? What is the quality of the water?
Do you really want your kids to grow up getting used to all the trash and dirty air they see and breathe in every day? Did you know that there is a very high risk of getting lung cancer for people in Manila?
What about money for when you are going to grow old? Or how about medical assistance?
I am single and have no kids. I saw my dad living a good life. But when he retired, he only had his savings to sustain him. Within a couple of years, that was gone. And it is up to us kids to provide for him. Luckily, I am single and earning more than enough for myself and his needs.
But do I want that kind of situation for myself? Do I want to place the burden on my nieces and nephews when I get old?
Do you or your husband want to rely on your kids when you get old? Do you want to put that burden on them?
Because honestly, even if you have millions in the bank, if you get sick once or twice, will the money be enough? Will the government provide for your medical needs? Or will you be like other pensioners who have to sell off their assets to be able to pay for their medical needs?
Truthfully, there are a lot more reasons, but these are the major factors for me.
So again I ask you, what is the quality of your LIFE in Manila?
