Ehehe. Tinatapos ko na lang tong year nato. Uuwi na din ako next year and I am so excited. Matatapos na din ang paghihirap d2. Konting tiis na lang talaga. Hindi lang talaga ako ung tipo ng taong masaya lang just by having too much money.

Hello Guys,

Have been reading your posts.

First, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Renee. I have a Provisional Permanent Visa (309 Spouse Visa).

Second, I am temporary staying with my stepdaughter and her husband here in Bunbury, Western Australia.

Third, I arrived in Australia (with approved 309 visa) 23 November 2014. Had to go back to Philippines due to personal problems I have to settle. Now (back in OZ, since 31st March).

Like what you guys had mentioned on your posts, I am also having trouble landing a job. Must have emailed my CV and Cover letter to thousand companies. So far all replies are negative. I have graduated at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sta. Mesa Manila on October 1992. With the degree of Mass Communication major in Broadcasting. All my work experiences are from the Philippines. I have worked as an Executive Secretary for 16years with an excellent salary. However, my husband has requested for me travel with him on a regular basis to attend our fun running club. Up till this date, I haven't had any positive feedback with my job hunting. Frustrating and to mention depressing. I kept on thinking about my life back home. It also does not help that I am all alone here in the land of Koala's. Speaking language that is my own. Eating food that I am not used to. Sharing a house with my husbands daughter. No drivers license. And completely, absolutely, insanely missing my own house, my life and family. 🙁(

i feel for you...

kararating mo lang po pala...ganyan talaga sa una, dont expect na tatawagan ka agad ng recruiter upon submission ng CV mo...usually mga around 2 to 3 weeks ang response nila...kumbaga, they are still sorting all CVs, katulad ng sinabi ng isang recruiter sa akin before, sometimes daw e hinihintay nila ung job ad expiration bago sila magtawag for shortlisting...

ganito talaga sa Oz, talagang back to zero...kaya if i were you, apply ka muna ng odd jobs tulad ng cashier, kitchen hand, waitress, etc...then habang may odd jobs ka, paguwi mo ng bahay e try pa rin magapply apply sa talagang in line ng profession mo...

maganda sa bunburry ah..i reckon nageenjoy ka rin naman dyan :-)

***anyways, ung friend ng housemate ko taga-bunburry...if ever magpunta ulet dito ung friend niya, ask ako ng referral sa kanya...

Once may phone interview ako and nung cnb kong 457 visa hawak ko, cnb nung girl na call her na lang daw pag permanent visa nako. Once lang naman un.

Pero hwag mawalan ng pagasa, dahil mas naniniwala pa din akong swertihan lang tlga ang makakuha ng work d2.

i believe na it is easier to get a job if you are referred by an insider but this is not always the case. it is also a matter of hard work and luck and perseverance 🙂

Until now, I still find it somewhat odd na may scheme na "kakilala" at "ipasok mo naman ako dyan" sa Australia...

@wizardofOz I guess it's more on the "confidence level" ng naghire. Maybe he's more confident na ang bagong hire niya ay "not totally bago" dahil kakilala ito ng "kilala" na niya

hello there, nakakarelate ako s post na to. been here in adelaide for 3months now at hindi madly makahanap ng work. frustrating to know din na "it's not u know, it's who you know" ang kalakaran d2 SA maybe pati sa ibang state. Baka pede nyo nman ako refer s kahit anong odd jobs muna sa mga may work na d2 s adelaide. medical laboratory scientist by profession but will grab any odd job. salamat ng marami.

Just persist... naalala ko lang that one time tinawagan na si mrs ng recruiter advising her to stop sending her resume to them. Halos lahat na yata ng job post ng recruitment firm na yon na applyan na ni misis. Sabi noong recruiter na mag apply na lang daw si mrs directly sa mga companies kasi very clear daw ang reqts ng mga clients na nila na dapat may Aussie experience. Oo iniyakan ni mrs yon, pero hindi naman natinag ang fighting spirit namin. We just persisted and we looked for other options for her to penetrate the industry. Kaya yon kumuha si misis ng cert 1V para lang maka pag apprentice and now pareho na kami perm sa work namin and nasa target industries pa namin. This worked for us, it may worked for you as well.

Sabi nga nila, 'Don't expect to get different results, if you are just doing the same action." Kaya nyo yan.. keep pushing, learn and innovate.

Hhahaha... nakaka demoralize kaya yon.. pero ang good thing lang doon sinabi nya rin na maganda ang resume ni misis and nag explain rin sya na some of their clients are contacting other recruitment firms as well, kaya they have to make sure that they only screen those applicants who they know will have a chance to get hired by their clients. Parang ini imply nya lang sa amin that time na don't waste my time, I won't waste your time. And nag advise rin sya na the best way talaga sa kay misis is to apply directly. Kaya yon noong nag apprenticeship si misis, tinarget talga namin yong mga companies na gustong gusto nyang pagtrabahoan and God's grace nagbunga naman.

@Gft_SG hello may tanong po ako re sa apprenticeship, pede na ba kami apply dun khit 3mos plng? Funded din ba to ng govt or kami magbabayad?

@bhelle_mt02 yeap. pwedeng pwede.. funded sya pero hindi full.. nagbayad rin kami 700 dollars. pero kung unfunded nasa 5K rin yong course

@Gft_SG ano pong field ni misis, sir? Naresearch nmen ung apprenticeship nsa 4yrs ang tagal. May allowance po ba ung apprenticeship?

@bhelle_mt02 naku sorry for choosing the wrong word... hindi apprenticeship yong sa kay misis.. placement yong tawag nila. 2 mos lang yon.. kumuha lang sya ng cert 4 professional employment.. 3 mos lang yong part time study, afterwhich the school will send you to a company for placement. ang kagandahan lang doon is you can nominate the companies you want. don't expect too much sa classes kasi medyo average lang ang content. habulin mo lang yong placement sa huli. construction management si mrs kaya nahirapan kami kasi kailangan talaga may proj ka nahawakan dito sa aus. pero ok na ngayon.
