bambina which part in adelaide is a great place to settle for a young family?i'd love to hear feedback from anyone about the suburb u have lived or currently residing..have heard of stories online na there are few places not really nice (?) ie elizabeth (?),some parts of salisbury (?) ,etc...
sohc @bambina those place are quite far from Adelaide. Actually the CBD is what they call Adelaide. You can easily identify if the place is far by just looking at the postcode. Basically, postcode with numbers 5100 up are far places. Public transport is not that good it will take you more than an hour to go in Adelaide CBD. I've attached Google maps. The highlighted red square is the CBD area.
sohc @donking I've met some Filipino communities here and some are religious groups which I find very common in any state in Oz. As of now winter kaya malamig nag drop one time to 1 degree but usually 6-10 degree every morning.
sohc to others here in Adelaide looking for cheap cinemas check out Windsor theatres. Ticket is only $8 anytime, anyday. Time to see Batman tomorrow 🙂
tigermj Reply to @emjdee: actually yun din isa sa mga una namin aasikasuhin ang maghanap ng accomodation kasi temp lan yun matutuluyan namin kaibigan lang ng close relative namin so kapalmuks lang muna 🙂 will give you some inputs regarding accomodation pag nakarating na kami AU hopefully maganda timing natin sa paghanap and siyempre sa paghanap work din 🙂

sohc @kit I met someone here na nagbridging course for three months then after 2 months nagwowork na as a nurse in a hospital here in Adelaide. Very in demand ang nurse sa phone line ng Royal Adelaide Hospital lagi naka advertise ang need for nurse. 🙂
Bicolana Hello po musta sa lahat? I'm so glad to find this website. Ngayon lang po ako nagjoin sa forum. matagal na po akong naghahanap ng Filipino community dito sa Adelaide. My brother and his wife and daughter will be joining me here in Adelaide in September so I am very excited for them. Would be really nice to meet many Pinoys here in Adelaide. I just want to share to everyone that the Cathedral Community of St Francis Xavier Cathedral in the city will be holding a special luncheon on September 23 at 12:30pm. It would be a BYO shared lunch. I've just learned this when I attended holy mass there. Everyone is encouraged to bring a dish from their own cultural background. I am planning to attend and bring my family there and hopefully maraming Pinoy na umattend at makilala. Sana magkaroon din ng gathering ang mga Pinoys dito sa Adelaide. I hope that this luncheon gathering would be a good start. Attend po tayo para naman di lang dito sa forum tayo nag uusap usap kundi para magkitakita na din at magkakilakilala sa personal. 🙂
