Au Citizenship Act 2007 Residence Requirements
To satisfy the residence requirements, you must have:
- 4 years lawful residence in Australia. This period must include 12 months as a PR immediately before making an application for Au citizenship
AND
- absences from Au of no more than 12 months in total in the 4 years prior to application, including not more than 90 days in the 12 months immediately prior to application

My own example:
Permanent Residence Date starts May 3, 2015 based on Initial Entry date
Intended Lodgement Date is May 3, 2019 which is 4 years after IED
Periods outside of Au:
May 25, 2015 to January 25, 2016 = 8 months; kayod muna sa SG, dagdag pera, hehehe
May 25, 2017 to June 25, 2017 = 1 month; Pinas vacation
May 25, 2018 to June 25, 2018 = 1 month; Pinas vacation
so kahit 3 years ka lang pala 'physically' nasa Au, pwede ka na magiging Au citizen (if my understanding is correct)???
