How is living in Hobart,Tasmania?

HI po... Plano po namin maglodge sa Tasmania.. Businesss Analyst po at Web designer po ako. Based on the thread nagiging interested po ako lalo. Pa advise naman po ulit if tama decision namin or take IELTS ulit for higher points para sa ibang state. Thanks po

hello sa lahat ng Noypi dyan, visited Tasmania last year- nagustohan ng partner ko na place is Burnei, malapit ata yun sa Devenport? (yong sa may area na may airport, opposite ng Melbourne). Tanong ko lng if there's opening for civil engineers. Civil engineer ako dito sa Pinas w/ at least 2 yrs working experience na. ano mga requirements to work as a civil engineer in Tassie and if malakas ba hiring ng ganyang trabaho. Need advice talaga ako kasi mga nxt yr move-in na kami dyan. Salamat guys.

I've met some few Civil Engineers na dito at maganda naman ang feedback nila. Just check seek.com.au kung may opening. Goodluck!

Would you think it's a good idea to study at UTAS? Meron kasi sila scholarship for international students. I've read a lot of positive things about TAS such as its people having a laid back lifestyle. However, may isang article din ako nabasa na hindi maganda ang economy dyan. Gusto ko din sana kasi makapagwork kahit papaano. Although less ang competition, madami din bang trabaho dyan for aspiring students like me?

@GoldSeeker Yeah UTAS is good and I know some pinoys studying there. One of them got a part time job in Myers. Swertehan lang din sa paghahanap ng work. Goodluck po.

Maganda sa Tassie especially if you are a nature lover. Madaming pwedeng mapasyalan na parks at gardens. Very accommodating ang mga local. I've been there few times. Stayed in Hobart. Went to Launceston and Burnie too.

So as per their website, they are requiring a formal job offer if you will apply for state sponsorship.. Anyone recently tried 190 for Tasmania that did not require the job offer? Thanks

pag nka lagay po sa website na they require job offer..u need it po tlaga. thats what happend to me sa WA so i ddnt continue nlg after they invited me to apply for state nomination kc 30days lg din binigay ng WA. malabo mahire kana within 30days esp if nag aaply aply kapalang..

very enticing to live in Hobart. Prang worth d try 🙂

@jkk32w Thanks, yes.. gusto ko din sana i try.. pero yun nga need ng job offer. Sa WA under schedule 1 ako kaya hindi na kailangan ng job offer.. intayin ko lang vetassess tas sa WA na ako.. try ko din pumunta sa Hobart if i'm back in AU na..

I am a preschool teacher from the Philippines and I am being offered a sponsorship to work in Hobart, Tasmania. However, my partner isn't too keen in moving there because we don't know anyone from Hobart (our relatives are in Melbourne) and some people discourage us to move there because they claim that people living there are predominantly white communities. Can you give us an idea on what it is like living in Tasmania for Filipinos? Are Filipinos there prone to discriminations? And how is your relationships with the locals living there?
