Tips I learned from PTE Practice / E2 Language / PTE Magic
Gusto ko lang po ishare below mga tips na nakatulong sakin to stay focused sa PTE Academic test. First, identify po your weakness and keep practicing it. Sa speaking at listening ako una natakot, pero after ng mock tests, sa writing at reading ako mababa, inisip ko nung una straightforward sya, pero if you don’t study yung scoring (kung pano mamali yung sagot mo like word limits), nakakpahamak. Sana po makatulong.
Repeat Sentence - okay lang di macapture lahat ng words basta malinaw at tuloy tuloy; may scores for content, oral fluency at pronunciation. Don’t start speaking hangat di nagstart recording, mejo may 1 second gap, if you start early, recording will miss your first words. Same with read aloud and other speaking tasks
Comply with the minimum and maximum word limits - don’t exceed or write lesser.
Describe image - speak more than 25 secs and try to finish within 35 secs para po di ma-cut off.
Reading - try to stay within 2 to 2.5 mins per question.
Take note of write minus wrong tasks - i.e. multiple choice multiple answers, if not sure choose atleast 1 ung sure ka, kasi if you choose 2 tas mali isa, 0 score mo
Re-order paragraph - take note that the scoring is by pair ng sequence. i.e. kahit tama na 2nd order ung isang sentence, if yung 1st or 3rd mo ay mali, 0 score. Look for link words.
WFD - make sure you manage your time properly and complete all WFD
Templates - great help for me for describe image, retell lecture, summarize written/spoken text, essay. I followed e2 language. Watch their youtube channel meron super method dun (aka template). Okay lang simple sentences except sa summarize written text which is a single long sentence.
Note down as much key words as you can for retell lecture, summarize spoken text para kahit di ko naintindihan ang topic meron akong magagawang simple sentences using keywords.
Part 3 Listening - if mabilis ka magtype- helpful to type directly on the text window while listening, balikan mo na lang for spell check and completion ng sentences. Helped me a lot sa listening lalo sa wfd.
Always do a spell check and use of punctuation marks.
Lastly po - practice a lot and time yourself... make time for it. This was my only opportunity to earn 20points sa EOI para abot 80/85 score ko for 189/190 kaya talaga po pinagtuonan ko ng oras. I also checked kailan effective memory / utak ko, haha i noticed my mock tests sa umaga scored higher compared sa hapon, kaya AM sched kinuha ko for my test.
I aimed for atleast 85 para po in case magbago minimum scores this year ng PTE sa visa reqts, pasok pa din sa superior.
For those taking sa Sg, nakamask po during sa exam. Practice recording with the right mic position para macheck if clear narerecord and wear the surgical type para manipis lang.
