I want to share some tips I used in my PTE exam.
Pray and consistently practice before taking the exam.
(I subscribed to apeuni so I can constantly practice.)
Kailangan po talaga ang matinding concentration at focus sa exam.
Sa actual exam, nabulol ako twice yata yun.
Nawala din ako sa focus for few seconds sa Repeat Sentence.
I prepared around 2-3 weeks before taking the exam.
Pero yung last 2 weeks yung consistent tlga.
1) Describe Image, Retell Lecture, and Summarize Spoken Text
"The image/audio is mainly about ____. I also learned about ____. I also learned about ___.
I also learned about ___. I also learned about ____. I also learned about ____. I also learned about ____."
basta ang kailangan po ay uniform rhythm po sa pagsasalita,
dapat same po yung speed ng pagsasalita all throughout
Fluency is the key***
Sa SST, naglista po ako at least 10 nouns from the lecture at yun po nilagay ko sa template.
2) Read Aloud
- I just used the chunking technique. Pag sobrang haba ng sentence, I divide them into 3 chunks.
Pag di masyadong mahaba, I read them in 2 chunks. Pag short sentence, 1 chunk lang, ibig sabihin walang pause.
chunking means po slight pauses
Basta maintain the speed and rhythm, that is what matters most po dito.
Example:
A recent study published in the open-access journal PLOS ONE // suggests that dog-assisted interventions can effectively reduce stress levels in children, //regardless of whether they have special needs or not.///The study, conducted by Kerstin Meints and colleagues from the University of Lincoln, UK, //measured salivary cortisol levels to determine the impact of these interventions.
3) Repeat Sentence

"Fluency is the king" po dito. Need po derederecho yung pagsasalita mo sa words.
I did not aim to repeat 100% of the words, I aimed to say at least 60% FLUENTLY as much as possible.
I intentionally skipped yung words na nahihirapan akong i-pronounce at yung mga di ko maintindihan.
4) Write From Dictation
I write the first letters of the first three words,
Then, for the rest of the words, I directly encoded the words on the computer screen but used shortcuts sa pagspell sa kanila since mabilis ang pagdictate.
After which, I added the words from the ones I'd written on the notepad and then corrected their spelling.
Example:
The library offers study rooms, computer access, and research assistance services.
Sa notepad, I write: T l o s r
Then immediately sa computer screen: comp accs and rsrch asst srvcs
After, ita type ko na sa screen yung isinulat ko sa notepad:--> The library offers study rooms
Then, ire-rectify ko na yung spelling ng mga naitype ko na words sa screen:--> computer access and research services.
"The library offers study rooms, computer access, and research assistance services."
5) Fill in the Blanks - Listening
first, type the words fast but used shortcuts first para mahabol, kasi mabilis ang speed ng nagsasalita
I used rough spellings, like available becomes avlbl, property = prprty, evidence = evdnce
basta make sure maiintindihan nyo yung tinype nyo na letters pag i--i-spell out nyo na later yung words
When the audio has finished, that's the time I corrected the spelling,
and then I clicked next pag sure na ako sa spelling
6) Write Essay
- I used Jimmysemms template
