Ang malas ko naman. 🙁 Ayaw ata sakin ng Australia. Grabe. 🙁

Nakuha ko na po result ko yesterday ng gabi. Kaya pala ganun katagal, nahirapan ata intindihin ng computer yung boses ko. 🙁

Eto po scores ko:

Overall=72

L-85, R-70, S-45, W-90

Grabe yung speaking! 🙁 Yung score ko sa oral fluency is 39 and yung sa pronunciation 25..

Mag apply ako for remarking. Nagconsult ako sa center. I think dun yata ako nagkamali sa pagtakip sa mic and ilapit pa sya sa bibig ko para mas malakas.. sa practice kasi ganun ginawa ko since medyo soft ang boses ko kaya worried ako na baka hindi mapick up ng computer.. 🙁 So, another lesson learnt, wag masyado malakas.. 🙁

Very frustrating! Ubos na ubos na funds ko.. 🙁

it's just weird following your speaking scores sa mock tests mo. makes me think that there was a glitch sa nagamit mong pc during actual test. sakin kasi hindi nagkakalayo yung actual speaking score ko sa mock tests.. don't lose hope...

I will be taking PTE Academic very soon and kinakabahan ako. Feeling ko ang hirap compared sa IELTS like Re-tell the lecture, repeat the sentence, summarize the essay and so on.

Sa practice pa lang parang nangangamote na ako. I need atleast 65 for all the exams to get 10 points.

anyway, dun po ba sa mga nagtake, as is po ba yung headset sa inyo? I mean to say wala po ba instances na hinawakan niyo po?

bale ang ginawa ko po sa mic if ma imagine niyo, kapag mag videoke, since mahina ang dating ng boses ko, tinatakpan ko yung gilid para makulob yung boses ko then para lumakas siya.. ganun ginawa ko sa SET B ng practice, naperfect naman speaking ko dun.. 🙁

To answer your question, yes never ko hinawakan yung headset/mouthpiece. Based on your mock exam results, unexpected nga to get a low score sa speaking part. Saka, kung titignan mo yung scores mo, outlier yung sa speaking part. Either may problem sa computer/headset mo or baka nga dahil sabi mo hinawakan mo yung headset habang nag-eexam. Anyway, I hope they give you reconsiderations.

I asked the invigilator before I do that, she told me there'll be no problem.. I called them yesterday and they advised me to make an appeal directly to the Pearson na.. Gano naman kaya katagal yun.. Hays.. 🙁

Btw, maybe I could give tips in terms of writing since parang dun talaga yung area na consistent ang scores ko..

I just followed yung IELTS format ng simon and writefix..

4 paragraphs..

1st paragraph - includes 3 sentences introducing two sides of the argument/discussion (1 sentence each), what I write in the other (3rd) sentence is something like this "this essay will discuss..etc etc"

2nd paragraph - one side of the argument. start with the topic sentence of your first argument. I always mention at least one example or one citation basing on my experience. minsan kapag wala na ako maisip na reason to support yung side ko, dun na ako gumagamit ng citation based on my experience.. then try to include at least one complex sentence.. (3-5 sentences for the 2nd paragraph)

3rd paragraph - the other side of the argument. same tips lang po.. 🙂

4th paragraph - conclusion. I always write not more than 2 sentences here, minsan 1 lang.. complex sentence po ginagawa ko dito para mamention ko pa rin ung 2 ideas.. summarizing to my conclusion..

@filipinacpa I see. Pero magkaiba kasi ang headset mo at yung nasa test center? Baka kapag ginawa mo yun sa headset nila, hindi na malinaw yung boses mo. Anyway, sana sumagot agad yung pearson at i-reconsider nila yung score mo. Keep the faith 🙂

@guboer ayun nga.. mumurahin lang headset ko.. haha.. so talagang ang bagal ng pick up niya.. hay! nakakapanghinayang.. di lang siguro talaga meant to be.. 🙁

@filipinacpa sorry to hear about what happened to you, if there's a cost involved sis sa remarking I think you might as well retake the exam instead. Ako di ko rin hinawakan yung mike, ang level nya nsa gitna lang. You did well sa ibang modules so mukhang glitch ang ngyari sa mic. Try to inquire na lang muna. Don't lose hope 🙂

@filipinacpa: sorry to hear about your score in speaking. maybe it's just a glitch on their part. antataas ng scores mo nakakapanghinayang. :-(

just think of it this way na lang sis, in God's perfect timing maaachieve din natin ito. pray and don't lose hope! 🙂

@filipinacpa I admire your generosity in sharing your tips and experiences... you don't know how much useful information and hope you impart to other aspirants.

Wag ka mawawalan ng pag-asa. I myself know how frustrating it is lalo na kung konti na lang di pa binigay ni Lord. Yun bang nakikini-kinita mo na ang sarili mo na maganda ang buhay, dami mong dreams pero ang funds mo konting-konti na lang. Hahaha! Nakailang try din ako sa IELTS, I almost gave-up and right at the time na sabi ko last na 'to if I don't pass goodbye AU. Di ko talaga inasahan na papasa ako but miracles do happen. I took my 3 IELTS exam sa iisang center lang, consistent sila sa pagmark down ng writing ko. At one point nagpa-remark pa ko kase .5 lang kailangan ko. Ang damot talaga nila! So I tried a different testing venue. Ayun pumasa nakatsamba. I guess what I am pointing out is that if you feel like you've had enough, explore other options. Wag basta susurrender. Ang buhay parang gulong, totoo yan. Ang drama. Hahaha!

Sobrang thank you po sa inyo! Di pa ako nag inquire for remarking pero I will later or tomorrow morning. 14 days naman daw from the time na ireleast ang result 🙂

Or I might try again nalang kapag nakaipon ipon ulit..

Kala ko talaga mag move on na ako sa step 2.. Naready ready ko pa naman ulit yung mga docs na need ko as I was really very confident.. Lol
