Bro @ceasarkho, sayang. Onting onti na lng. Kaya na yan sa susunod. Ako dn this Nov. magtake na din. Mejo malayo pa sa katotohanan yung Listening ko. Nsa 71 pa lang. haha. May tips ka ba jan bro? Malaki ba humatak yung Summarize Spoken Text sa Listening? Usually mga 3 pointers lang ksi nilalagay ko doon. I wonder kung mababa bigay kpg 3 pointers lang.

@maggot0926, yup meron dn po syang template, yung kay steven fernandes po. Mejo need nga lng po pag aralan kung paano mag shoot ng mga phrases sa templates.

@Supersaiyan, nangyari kasi ng changed ako ng approach sa writing 2days before kaya nung ng exam mbagal execution ko, hindi ko na eloborate ang arguments ko at 230 words lng ako.

Sa tingin ko Summarize Spoken Text nga my malaking factor. Ginawa ko pikit mata at ngtatype habang nkikinig. Yung topics medyo familiar ako kaya medyo detailed na infos na capture ko....

@ceasarkho, I see, mga ilang words ba dapat target sa Essay para maka 79+? Mga 250-280 ba dapat range?

@Supersaiyan, parang ganun na nga. According sa PTE Academic Practice Tests Plus on page 27 sa preparation section, na mentioned "write 250 words..." So sa pagkaintindi ko at least 250 words per essay to demonstrate subskills that is tested to earn high points.

Sa Summarize Spoken Text, 4 points then my conclusion. Ang conclusion ko was very general. Ang tip ko is, i pwesto mo na kamay mo sa keyboard then close your eyes. Then focus sa lecture then type. Finally, i fix mo na ang sentence structure at grammar. Ang easy ma capture ng topic, ideas, at supporting details sa ganitong approach.

Tanong lang po napansin nyo din po ba n garalgal pgpasok ng boses sa pte gold kit free sample question sa speaking read aloud at describe image.. pg ngtry nmn po aq ng ordnry record at hndi gling sa goldkit maayos nmn.. bka po kc ganun din sa mock test at mapectuhn ang speaking score..anu po kya pwd gwin dto?

Ang approach ni Jay of E2Language and Steven Fernandes is same when it comes to giving importance sa structure, which is 1. Intro 2. Arg 1 2. Arg 2 3. Conclusion. "Argumentative" approach yung emphasis ng dalawa. But when it comes to paragraph content mas okay ang kay Jay dahil consider nya yung PTE program algorithm how it checks the essay.

Jay:

Intro Paragraph:
Intro, Restate Essay Prompt, Standpoint
Argument 1: Topic+idea>Support Topic>Evidence/Example>Conclusion
Argument 2: Topic+idea>Support Topic>Evidence/Example>Conclusion
Conclusion: Restate topic+idea of Arg1 and Arg2> State your opinion.

Steven:

In my opinion lang, only difference is, sa Argument 1/2 or 2 bodies of paragraphs, sa template nya parang hindi strong yung conclusion part. But yung mga signpost, coherence phrases, at introduction are very strong.

But of course, infinite ang combinations how to write essays. Sa akin basic lang ako, above formula mkaka survive na rin for superior mark. But must always remember incorporate ang na state sa PTE-A Practice Tests book.

Mga kapatid natin jan maraming mga genius sa essay writing. Hintay hintay lng tayo.

@ceasarkho @Supersaiyan just wanted to share po and hopefully it will help, I think the number of words doesn't matter much, as long as you stay in the required range of 200-300. My essays were always only around 205-220 words and my writing scores were 89, 90 and 90. I think it's ok to add more words, just be careful in maintaining the flow. Ang danger kasi sa pagdagdag ng pagdagdag ng words eh baka magulo na yung flow ng paragraphs mo that's why I avoid it. My technique was to make sure my sentences are related- avoid introducing new statements or ideas that do not relate to the previous sentences. Good luck po, konti na lang scores niyo, kaya na yan next time 🙂

@dyanisabelle I see. How about po sa sentence structure, did you consciously incorporate simple, compound, and complex sentences? thank you.

@dyanisabelle, effective mixture of sentence structure. sinubokan ko na sa mock test B. Ng add rin ako ng few high vocabularies at inayos ko ang conclusion part where ni re-state ko ang arguments ko into one sentence. number of words ko 230-240. mistakes ko siguro last no high vocabularies at kulang ang conclusion ko.

@ceasarkho, thanks sa mga insights bro. Sigurado pasado kn next take bro. Sa conclusion paragraph mo bro isang sentence lang or two sentences like yung structure ni E2Language. Mukang effective nga yan na discover mo na technique. Sken ksi gumagamit ako ng combination ng sentences sa essay at sa SWT ko, compound sentence gamit yung FANBOYS. Ang nkuha ko lng na grade sa writing was 77. Di ko tuloy masabi kung sa fill in the blanks reading ako sumablay kaya di umabot yung score ko sa writing ng superior. God bless bro.

Sample: "In conclusion, the essay discussed [re-state the 2 arguments]. In my opinion, [re-write the 3rd sentence of the 1st paragraph].

However, format from Steven Fernandes very effective. Just need to experiment sa Mock test.
