Share ko lang din sana, during my first mock test, lesson learned: importante na familiar ka sa pagkakasunud-sunod ng Tasks (Question Type) para ma-anticipate mo yung next task na hindi ka nagugulat. Kasi sa Listening, hindi agad ako nakapag prepare sa Write From Dictation, eh 3 seconds lang mag-start na mag-play yung audio.

Sa answer short question naman, pag mali daw yung una mong sagot, pede mo pa daw baguhin basta hindi pa nagsasara yung mic. Kasi ang chinecheck naman daw ng computer ay yung correct word(s).

Wala pa ako schedule pero hopefully by 1st to 2nd week of june makapag take na ko.

Guys, could you please share your study plan when you were preparing for PTE academic? If possible, could you also share your sample speaking recordings? I took another exam yesterday and got the result today. Unfortunately, my speaking score is just the same. So, walang glitch na ngyari sa microphone. May problem talaga sa speaking ko and I don't know which part I did wrong. 🙁

2nd PTE score:

L-90; R-70; S-47; W-90

Grammar, written discourse, vocabulary and spelling skills are all 90 as well.

Grabe lang talaga yung sa speaking. Ano kaya mali ko. 🙁

Few questions and hoping that you guys could shed some clarifications on these:

1)At what point do you start speaking? Sa first green bar? During my first take, I spoke immediately after the beep. Then, sa 2nd take ko, most of the time I think I waited for the green bar to appear before I start speaking.

2)Another question, do you speak all throughout the 40 seconds time limit?

yung writing sis, ielts format lang.. kung pano iprepare yung task 2 essay sa ielts ganun lang din ginawa ko sa writing tapos word count ko is around 240-260

same questions nakuha ko last take ko and pati yung kahapon.. something like this:

"many people believe that laws influence human behavior. others argue that it has little effect on human behavior"

sa listening, focus and bonggang take notes. although i believe i missed some ending parts nung sa repeat sentence ata yun..

Hinintay ko muna yung first green bar para sure na ma-record yung first word ko. Pansin ko, di nag c-close yung mic pag wala ka sinasabi for 3 seconds. Mukang may nadedetect na sound yung mic mula sa aircon unit.

Kinulang pa ko ng 2 sa speaking. lol Mag review na ko at mag take ulit ng test next week.

3 times na ko nag IELTS at laging 6.5 ang Speaking at Writing. sa PTE-A talaga ko nag ka pag-asa.

@filipinacpa hi sis nung nagexam ako last time, I waited for the first green bar to appear saka ako nagsalita, I spoke not too fast and not too slow din..did you try to do the test recording bago yung actual exam to see kung okay ang dating ng volume at ng voice mo?

Make sure din na yung delivery ng words mo is clear kasi remember sis computer ang kausap mo so dapat clear lahat..hindi kailangan ng accent..kasi for me yung grade na nakuha mo sa speaking is too low na parang may glitch talaga..naisip ko rin bka msyadong malakas ang boses mo kasi may tendency na parang sabog ang dating ng voice mo nun..or baka masyado rin mahina sis..

Most of the time di ko talaga natatapos yung 40second limit usually nsa mga 35 lang ako and then hit ko completed agad..

Also sis I remember, pinapatay ko talaga yung aircon sa loob ng room, aside from sobrang lamig nya, medyo maingay din sya at nkakadistract talaga..

I know malaking gastos talaga pero still don't give up sis!

ayun nga di ko maintindihan bakit sa simulated exams ang taas ng dalawang speaking socres ko, ano naman nangyari bat naging ganun sa actual, super layo.. 🙁 nakakalungkot.. feeling ko best ko na yung binigay ko eh tapos di ko pa rin nakuha..

opo same test centre.. seat number 1 ako before. tapos nung tuesday, sa seat no 2 naman nila ako inassign.. hays 🙁

@CPAofOz naiyak naman po ako sa quotes na yan.. very touching and inspiring.. thank you po ah.. i'll study harder.. sabi ng iba sa expatforum, yung aircon din daw ipapatay ko baka nakakaaffect sa dating ng microphone. tapos lakasan ko raw boses ko. yung isang nakausap ko, mag asawa sila naka 90 ung wife nia tapos 85 siya sa speaking, wala daw sila care basta salita lang ng salita ng malakas lol kahit di pa raw nagstart ang recording, nagreread aloud na raw sila agad tsaka sa repeat sentence.. tapos ang bilis nila mag salita..

mag record po ako one time ng sample read aloud ko for at least 2 mins then judge niyo po ah.. thank you..

@CPAofOz goodluck!! hopefully you get your desired scores na at makagraduate sa english requirement..

sana pwede na partial partial acceptance of score sa english no tulad ng toefl sa usa.. haha.. ang laking relief siguro kapag pwede partial.. hahaha

@filipinacpa, it will be easier that way! anyway, my backup plan would be to take a masters by coursework which will be my pathway to visa 485 then visa 189! I can also take IELTS while Im studying for my masters, either way this will at least give me the opportunity to be there ASAP! 🙂

Pede bang mag mic-test before mgstart ang exams to know if maayos ito?

@cpa_oct2011 yes pwede po. feeling ko ako lang yung exception dito! haha. i remember yung test admin, she told me na hindi daw ba baka malayo yung mouthpiece sakin. but when I tried it sa mic test, clear naman yung voice ko..

@superluckyclover hello po, sa bright center po sa ortigas. try ko nextime sa pearson cetner na po ako sa may makati..

not sure kung may glitch sila.. sana nga meron para maging okay naman scores ko sa makati.. although yung iba naman na ka forum natin dito nag take dun, okay naman po scores nila sa speaking.. parang di na rin ako naniwala na may glitch kasi twice ba naman mangyari super baba scores ko sa speaking..

anyway, sa June na po ako magtake. Medyo limited ang schedules ng pearson center.. sa June parang 3 nalang.. yung mga sasabay, either June 9 or 15 po ako mag take.. Haha.. kitakits nalang.. hehe..

okay talaga PTE. para sakin mas madali makapasa dito compared sa ielts. Di ko lang talaga alam problema ng speaking ko haha anyway, mag aral pa rin ako. Kung ayaw talaga ng computer, babalik na ko kay ielts. Nag aaral pala ako ngayon ng mga voice modulation sa youtube. Lol
