@Supersaiyan sir, may tanong ako sa speaking, dapat po ba normal voice lng pag nasa speaking task or mejo aartehan? parang subject to errors pag hindi normal voice gamit ko. consistent speaking mo po kaya baka makahingi advice..thanks

@als1987, hi po, normal voice lang po wag po artehan, basta po consistent dapat pacing throughout speaking test. One more thing, mas mataas po hatak ng OF kesa sa Pronunciation kaya practice po na wag ma mental block o mag ahhmmss or ahhss. Dapat po di madetect ni computer na nagiisip ng sasabihin. 🙂

@als1987 normal voice and normal pacing. it's more important na ma pick up ng computer yun mga words na sinasabi mo. try recording yourself while talking. it's important to practice with time pressure (stop watch) para ma gauge mo kung masyadong mabagal or mabilis ang speaking mo. be confident when speaking, wag masyado mag isip, let the words flow out or come out. Be mindful that the computer is programmed to listen to you as if native speaker ka ng English language so yun uhmm ohh ahhm or worst if you say wait wait for sure you will get low marks. do lots of reading ng english magzines, books. practice makes perfect sabi nga nila. what i did when i was preparing for the test, every night i will read books to my kids. this builds confidence kasi minsan may mga words tayo mga pinoy na mali ang pronunciation, so kung palagi ka mag practice you will notice it and correct it. mahirap na sa test ka pa magkamali mawala ang concentration mo. then watcht the youtube videos regarding PTE, one subject per session. if speaking lang ang gusto mo aralin for the day, all speaking related videos yun panoorin mo, and do the test na available din sa youtube.

@Supersaiyan Thank you sir sa tips.. minsan kasi napapansin ko dahil ncoconcious ako sa pronunciation nababago ko yung normal voice ko kaya lagi ako ngkakamali.. maxado kasi mababa pronunciation ko sa mga mock test ko kaya hindi ko alam pano mag iimprove.. nababasa naman ni google yung pronunciation ko pero hindi nga lang 100%. Sana makalusot ako kahit 65lng lahat.

@Supersaiyan @Heprex @batman okay lang ba na ang isisingit ko sa template eh one word or phrases lang? wag ko na iexpound? especially sa re-tell lecture?

@als1987 share ko lang sayo technique ko sa retell lecture. For the first sentence i used; The lecture was about....., The speaker talks about......, see the pattern? you can actually substitute this words na synonym sa talk, explain, discuss, etc... this is followed by the body. example: He further explained that...., He then discussed.....In addition.... key here is expounding the main subject. maybe 2-3 sentences. for the conclusion, i used, In conclusion, the speaker is very knowledgeable in the subject matter discussed and provided great source of information. More importantly write notes, keywords or phrases. For me when i wrote the keywords or phrases i prefer to write in a manner na parang flow chart or nag branch out ang other facts/words/phrase from one word or phrase. More importantly, if you missed out on something just keep writing notes and listening, wag mo isipin na ooops may na miss ako, just leave it at that and continue.

@kaidenMVH thank you sir.. actually ganyan nmn ginagawa ko Ang problem ko lng pag isisingit ko na Yung keypoints ngpapause ako pag inexpound ko Yung phrase kaya naisip ko if pwede wag na iexpound.

@als1987 it will be better sir kung ang i note down mo ay phrases. para i attach mo na lang sya sa template. that's why very important ang note taking and kung paano mo sya isinulat kasi sa pagsulat mo pa lang you are creating na yun retell lecture mo. You are mapping already paano mo sya sasabihin. The problem of not expounding it, is baka 20 sec pa lang wala ka na masabi. Just keep on practicing and watching yun mga you tube videos, try to pick up as much info and technique. Eventually magagamay mo din yan sir.

Finally got my PTE results. Wasnt exepecting na makaka proficient ako and 90 sa speaking. I remember may 2-3 items ako na mali dun sa magbibigay ng short answer, tapos meron ako answer ang sagot ko “Yes”. Haha.

So happy kahit first take. Mag exam nalang ulit para maka superior!

Tip ko sa speaking siguro is dapat clear lang sa pagsasalit and walang hesitation. Walang “uhhh” or pause. Dapat tuloy2 lang kahit misan feeling mo wala ng sense. Lol

@als1987 if you can, write down the whole sentence already, para babasahin mo nalang. ang technique ko, sinusulat ko yung template in between questions para pagdating ng retell lecture habang nakikinig shinushoot ko nalang yung ideas. kapag nag start na yung recording, binabasa ko nalang talaga. Kung ano nakasulat, yun na yon. Ganito ginawa ko kasi like you, nagkaka hesitations ako kapag sinusubukan ko pa mag expound.

@als1987, tingin ko oks lang yun, sken nga mas madami fillers ko sa template at onti lang yung galing sa lecture nka 84 ako sa Speaking. Ibig lang sabihin, content doesn't matter.

@als1987 3 sentences sakin. ang worry ko kasi baka masyado maiksi kung konti lang sasabihin ko-konti lang rin yung basehan nila for grading my OF and pronunciation. hehe. ganito yung itsura ng notebook ko:

yaka mo yan, di ibig sabihin na mababa sa mock exam, mababa na actual, minsan may technical problem sa ginagamit mong headset kaya mababa score, pero di ibig sabihin na sayo may problem. GODbless sa take mo bro. 🙂
