Company name changed due to merger or acquisition

Hi guys. Our company got acquired by another company early last year. We are still using the same name and I believe it is still registered with the same name. The COE that I submitted in ACS for skills assessment still have our former company name. Recently, i found out that the letterhead they are using now is the present company name but it is indicated there that it is formerly know as "former company name".

Ive submitted my EOI last Feb 3 and I indicated there our former company name. Do you guys think that i will have problem when i get an invitation to apply? Or I'll just continue using the former name and provide them the old (the one i submitted ti ACS) and new COE(with the new company name stating that it is the same with the former company name).

@J_Oz if I had the same case as yours, I’ll probably go for 2 options:

Option 1: Just request HR to issue you a COE with your company’s former name (if possible), dependent din kasi doon yung mga iba pang proof of employment mo like previous payslips, ITRs etc, as well as your Assessment results.. Para match lahat

Option 2: I will just submit the COE with the company’s new name, but I would just attached some document that states that the our company was acquired and then renamed (e.g. Press Release statements, Memo re the acquisition from Top Management, etc..)… Para may reference lang yung CO when reviewing your documents..

@wizardofOz onga yon din naisip ko, pero wala naman kaso ito no? kasi existing parin naman yong company nagiba lang ng name. Napansin ko rin dun sa friend ko ung COE niya nakaindicate na "Formerly Company A".

Thanks sa pagsagot. Btw, wala na akong kelangan palitan sa EOI no? I-retain ko yong Company name na pina-assess ko sa ACS?..

In my opinion lang...I think you can retain the details as is with your company's former name..

basta importante lang may document ka na nagsasabi regarding the acquisition.. like yung memo nga or press release... maiintindihan naman na siguro ng CO yun kasi normal lang naman yung naacquire ang company and napapalitan yung name nya into its new parent company

Hello all. May tanong lang ako at mejo off topic. Kasi waiting nadin kami ng wife ko sa visa. Nakumpleto namin lahat ng docs at pinasa / ni-lodged namin nung March 11. May consultant kami. Ngayon nag email sakin ang consultant sabi kung meron daw ako na previous employers na nag close kasi daw baka tinatawagan ng case officer at walang sumasagot , baka daw magka problema. Sabi ko naman meron, dalawang binili ng ibang kumpanya at nagiba ang pangalan at isa nag close last year. Yung tatlong companies na yan ay nakapag provide ako ng certificate of employment. Tanong ko lang kung meron ba akong kapareho na case dito na nakakuha padin ng visa. Maraming salamat po!
