I am a nurse on a 457 visa.

Will I receive the full amount that is stated in my job offer/contract? or will they still deduct tax from it?

how much is the tax for nurses on a 457 visa?

Everyone earning income in Australia have to pay tax regardless of occupation. The salary in your job offer is your gross salary, they will still deduct tax. check this link to know how much tax is to be deducted

Gross po yan so wala pang tax dun. At sa Australia sarili ang pagpasa ng Income Tax Return kaya sariling diskarte sa pag-apply ng deductions at offsets 🙂

@mahbi - google can help you... for one, nobody knows your salary hence di malaman how much yung tax mo.

Hi, I am on 457 visa and had just worked for 2 month for the current financial year. I know I am resident for tax purposes. But for this financial year, since 2 months lang po akong nagwork, will I be considered non-resident for tax purposes for this year? Also, if less than 18K lang yung annual income ko for this financial year, most likely po ba eh may refund ako? Thanks in advance

Any tax accountant present atm? Just like to ask if the km allowances stated in the Payment Summary should all be declared as income in the individual tax forms? There are two sections of the allowances in my husband's payment summary : Km up to 5000 and Km over 5000. Should these both go into the taxable income? Ang laki ksi ng babayaran nmin s ATO kung ganun.

Appreciate any information and explanations!

Hello po, ask ko lang sa galing po ng Sg, did you guys declare your income in Sg for Tax purpose here in Au? Kasi meron pong question dun about foreign income. Kya lang may Tax narin naman sa Sg, so we paid narin naman yun before coming here... tia po!!!!

@mahbi If you still earn income in SG and you're an AU resident for tax purposes yes you have to declare it. You'll get a foreign tax offset and you'll enter that in the tax form so you don't get double-taxed.

The general rule is if it's income then you declare it even if you won't get taxed on it.

Or better yet, get an accountant as their fees are tax-deductible.

@aanover, I did my tax on my first year. No need to get an accountant if it is straightforward and you won't be claiming any expenses. You just need to get the copy of your pay summary from your employer and then do it online (ATO website). I got refunded for almost all the taxes withheld by my employer since my income for the year was less than the 18K annual income tax exempt threshold.
