Hi,

Just wondering, if ever the VISA is already granted..magkano ba kailangan na funds sa Australia para makapagstart ang isang family - husband, wife and 1 year old infant? Iniisip namin to start in Sydney sana..thanks sa mga help!

AUD $6,300 per year for the spouse

@JClem, sobrang formal niyo naman hehehe 😛

Yung rent ang dealbreaker sa cost of living...mahina yung AU$1,500 a month so kung may kakilala kayo na puwede kayo makitira, malaking bagay yun. Kung single naman kayo, mas praktikal mag shared accommodation muna, anlaki ng matitipid niyo dun 🙂

@lokijr sir loki pwede ba magloan 0.01% interest? :-) pagka kinapos po ba ng baon, at naghahanap pa ng work san po pwede humingi ng help? centrelink kasi i think 2 years pa newstart allowance.

Reply to @donking: what do you mean loan po? uutang kayo sa Australia? May mga credible institutions na nagbibigay ng OFW loans...baka mas praktikal yung ganun (take note, credible a hehe..daming manloloko ngayon kasi).

If I were you, mag-apply na lang ako ng loan habang nasa Pinas pa ako tapos iremit ko na lang yung bayad every month.

Saka, huwag tayo aasa sa Centrelink. As much as it is a very reliable help from the government, naghihigpit sila sa immigration pag napapansin nilang maraming bagong migrants ang nagcclaim ng allowance...kawawa naman yung mga aspiring sa ating pumunta pa ng Australia hehehe

sir ok yun ah. Information well noted. Well kasi worried lang ako kung gaano katagal makahanp ng work baka ipadeport kami pag naubos baon namin :-). adik naman ako sa work 12 hours a day for 6 days... hehehe kaya kung wok lang no problem with us.

Hi Donking - iyun rin nasa isip ko. dependent kasi ang budget sa bilis ng paghanap ng work. wala rin kami kamag-anak sa australia kaya more effort ang kailangan.

hi ROlf i concur with you. Dapat hindi tyo maselan sa wok, kahit out of line kasi we have to take into account ang competition. San ka sa Oz?

@donking, it's common advice here in the forum...pag-na approve na po ang visa ninyo, huwag muna kayo lumipad papuntang Australia. Magpasa muna kayo ng mga resume sa seek or careerone...hopefully may sumagot na employer at pag humingi sila ng personal interview, saka kayo lumipad papunta dun...that way pagdating niyo dun trabaho kaagad...di niyo na pproblemahin yung mauubos ang funds niyo 🙂

Hi loks, Thanks for the advice, i shall do exactly that. Kahit magmacho dancer ako sa gaybar ok lang..:-). joke only. Right now kakalodge pa lang namin and if maapprove d muna kami fly to oz, ipon muna konti and try to find work if possible.

If its ok, where do you reside in OZ?

No show money if i remember correctly😉 but i showed may job offer ako and the salary was listed there🙂

For those coming to au.. 1500 per person per month is good enough likewise for the kids maybe 1000aud per kid per month.

Rent talga eats a huge chunk of ur baon while job hunting.

Im an advocate na kung sino primary applicant.. Ma una muna and mag hanap ng work, place to live and ipon muna at least 3 months' worth of salary before migrating the whole family.

Jobs are not easy to find.. 3 months is the average job hunting time.
Not fair for the kids to be in a first world country but living like a 3rd world citizen sa sobrang tipid.
If u can flat share( for singles) then thats the way to go. Bihira kasi people letting those with families flat with them so ung may family talaga needs to rent on their own. May certain number of occupants lng kasi pwdi sa flat unless homeowner talaga. Kids ideally should have rooms of their own.
