Update on NAB: got my new debit card already and my refund on unauthorised transactions after 4x follow up calls with NAB.

ill probably close the account after 3 months. hintayin k lng matapos yung introductory bonus interest rate sa Savings account then close it.

Ahhh Ok, since sa SG kayo nag process ng visa, baka di talaga required sa inyo yung PDOS.

hello sa lahat medyo matagal din ako hindi nakapagpost dito share ko lang sa inyong lahat na andito na sa aussie lalo na sa mga naghahanap na nang work hindi natatapos sa pagpasok sa aussie ang challenges natin at nasa same batch ko.

Nasa paghahanap nang work at pagsettling in ang isa sa pinaka mas difficult at challenging na part. Nasabi ko to dahil for 1 month halos magkumahog ako magpunta sa mga interview hanggang sa nakatsamba ako dalawang employer na pinaghandaan ko talaga at finally namili nalang sa dalawa bukod sa compensation at nature nang work.

ano ano mga diskarte na ginawa ko?

kung hindi makakuha nang interview basahin maigi ang CV at tignan maigi kung tama ba mga naka sulat. tignan din natin maigi kung nagsulat lang ba tayo because of whims at hindi dahil base talaga sa kung ano ginagawa sa mga previous work natin.

pag may interview iwasan natin ang kabahan at itrato lang natin yung kausap na parang informal na chit chat lang. ang napansin ko dito sa aussie friendly sila as long as maideliver mo yung gusto mo sabihin wala sila pake sayo kung minsan nagkakamali ka naiintindihan nang nagiinterview yun. sa totoo lang mga direktor na halos kausap ko sa sobrang kaba ko bandang hule hindi ko naideliver yung dapat ko sabihin at nasegway na kami sa kung ano anong hindi na related sa subject matter. maaring masasabi nyo na hindi nyo magagawa to pero maaring andun na kayo sa parteng ito masabi nyo nalang ay ganun pala yun. maigi na aware ang karamihan : )

at after nang interview mag thank you thru email or sms wag tatwagan at wag magspam nang follow up dahil professional tayo at hindi natin kailangan mangulet.

magreflect kung ano ba yung mga dapat iavoid at ano ba mga napagusapan sa interview na hidni na dapat gagawin next time.

goodluck sa mga naghahanap ang work at hopefully swertehin din lahat tayong andito at mafulfill natin ang kanya kanyang aussie dreams : )

@thegreatiam15 and @Liolaeus ang gara ng journey nyo dito... i am in the boat as you were a year ago... 66days na ako since last CO contact, but until now ala pa... worries are building up as CO may not consider my work exp but i leave everything to Him. naaliw akong basahin ang journey nyo and how you dealt with the daily agony of waiting. i am also here in SG, gustong gusto na din magresign sa work, pero sabi nyo nga sayang ang sahod. i learned a lot from you guys. thanks for sharing your journey here.

@don_andres bakit hindi i-consider? Sa skills assessment pa lang malalaman na yung i-claim mo diba? Basta same yung result ng assessment at ng lodgment mo, ok na yan. Kapit lang. Worth it lahat ng pag hihintay at investment. 🙂

agree ako dito sa skills assessment lang once ok na yun walang reason para di maapprove lalot nakapaglodge kana visa

anyway life is good dito sa OZ kung ako sayo eenjoyin ko na SG habang may time kapa kasi pagdating mo dito

faken Yishun, bishan, toa payoh, khatib, or whatever na lugar you are into is going bye bye

heheeh dami ka din mamimiss diyan pero marealise mo superficial lahat mas the best lifestyle dito!

just wondering, anyone of you tried lodging your tax return by yourself? gusto ko kasi itry mag lodge by myself this time around. anyone knows a good tutorial site for lodging at ATO?

also for @Liolaeus, tama ba pagka-aalala ko na nasa Brisbane ka? how do you find it up there? the reason I'm interested to know how's the real estate situation there is I saw the other day about an opening for a developer for Amazon. dito sa Sydney kasi masyadong mahal bumili kahit condo man lang, though I plan to stay here for 2-3 years...

Just thought to share, this was my own reply / update in another thread related to lodging your tax via ATO:

In the end, I asked one of my teammates here in the office, turns out he uses the ATO to lodge his taxes and he gave me a few pointers. The most important bit that he told me is that once you click the lodge button, it doesn't mean that its touch move. You can edit / update or even cancel your lodgement anytime.

So I went ahead and click the Lodge, saw there were 4 steps:

Contact Details (easy) - just update your details
Bank Details (easy) - just update your bank details to where ATO will deposit the refund
Personalise Return (hard) - there's alot of checkboxes here, I haven't figured out completely which ones I need to check, still in-progress for me, you can put some temporary checkboxes if you just want to be able to get to step 4
Prepare Return (hard) - this is where the PAYG is meant to appear, pre-filled once your employer(s) have reported it here as per my understanding. this is also where you put in the tax deductions if any, finally it has the calculate button to determine the tax refund correct? Again like step 3, still in-progress for me, since there are no PAYG yet.

Ok naman din naka one year na din ako last month. Halos sabay pala tayo nag big move. hehe. Balita ko yung citizenship exam hinirapan daw ah.

Yup, ok naman dito, hindi kasing crowded ng Sydney. Pag sa city ata talagang mahal ang mga property. Ano ba price range hanap mo? Dito kasi may aroudn 500k 400sqm 4br 2cr 2gr house and lot 20km away from city which is ok na. Meron pa ngayon first home owners grant $20k kaya hinahabol ko bago matapos ang 2017.

Re: Tax return. Mag pagawa na lang muna ko sa accountant tas next year na lang ako mag file ng sarili.
