Hi, you don't need to be a registered teacher in the Philippines to be qualified in applying as a teacher in Australia. While having been registered implies that you have had some good number of years of teaching experience that may add to your points, Australia will require teacher applicants to submit to accrediting procedures prior to being "qualified" to teach. Initially, for the purposes of your

migration application AITSL does not require applicants to be registered teachers in their home countries. You can visit the AITSL website for further guidance.

Hi @xoxo0286! Sorry for the delayed reply. @kindred is right, you only need your undergraduate degree (masters, if you have) and practicum to be assessed by aitsl for migration.

I know right now that elementary teachers are not included in the SOL for migration anymore.

Tanong lang ako tungkol sa Mrs. ko, graduate siya ng Bachelor of Elementary Education at nagtapos din sya ng Diploma in Early Childhood Education at meron na din siya TOEFL. At sa kasulukuyan, nagtuturo sya dito sa International School sa Singapore. Gusto ko lang sanang itanong kung qualified ba sya makakuha ng positive assessment? At ano pa kaya ang mga kailangan requirement para ma achieve yung expected points? Maraming Salamat.

Good day rin po sa inyo! If you're asking about the qualifications for migration to Australia, basically eto yung requirements:

Application form from the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL)
Award certificate for initial teacher education qualification
Academic transcript
Supervised teaching practice certification
IELTS Test Result Form (sadly, hindi naka-indicate sa website/form kung pwede ang TOEFL dahil IELTS specifically and nilista nila)
Payment (AUD 625.00)

salamat po sa mga detalye. Parang kulang pa yata sa experience ang misis ko kc hindi pa umabot ng 3 years yung experience nya sa ECT. Mix of middle school kc mga student nya at mukhang mahirapan sa points. Wala kami points sa experience at anu sa tingin nyu kung ok lang ba ang computation sa baba?

Yung experience ko as ECT is during my practicum only. Right after graduation kasi, sa grade school na ako nagturo for the past 4 years. Basta related work experience, accepted yun.

Anyway, without the state nomination, abot na kayo sa required minimum number of points, which is 60. So I say, go for it! 🙂

Hello! I have a question regarding the application.

Yung part na Other Higher Education Qualifications, it means not Education-related diba? In my case kasi, I finished Diploma in Business and Advanced Diploma in Marketing here in Australia, kelangan ko ba isama yun? Sa college ko lang siya tinake not in Uni.

@beaj is this for assessment? I think, not sure though, as long as related sa nominated occupation mo, you can include it for assessment.

If we're talking about the AITSL Assessment for Migration, then yes, this is talking about any other higher education qualifications that you took that are not related to your Initial Teaching Qualification, you have to include it.

Take note, that it should've been completed in a university level. Short courses (less than one year of full-time study) or incomplete qualifications don't need to be included. 🙂

...im happy with your conversation @sunflower and keziah... im not really in bs ed .. i just took the general education that became my undergrad studies.. should i further enrolled for eccd.. a dela lasalle school here is offering a certificate for eccd course ... would dat help me? I never undergo with practicum bcoz i was hired directly by the department of education... how would i link my profession .. i want to nominate my skills under pre-primary so it will be under SOL would dat be possible? Currently im teaching grade two aging 7 to 8 under k to 12 curriculum ... can i consider dat? Im about to graduate this april for my post grad.. MAED... will dat be counted... @sunflower... do i still have to enrol for pre-primary practicum just for certification? Im pretty sure some school might offer it...pls help...thanks a lot.. :-).. im confuse kc wid my status im in general education currently working as primary teacher but that is CSOL .. which limit my chance, is it ok ifi just choose pre-primary Under SOL?

@rdagulan when applying for assessment, they will only consider the practicum you had whie studying. You need to have a practicum with kods aging 3-8 years old for 45 days.

I contacted AITSL via email last week,ask them if they are accepting TOEFL IBT as a proof of english proficiency. After 4 days AITSL kindly responded that AITSL only accept IELTS as a proof of english proficiency.

Yes, there's really no other way around it, unless you have studied in a university in Australia, USA, Canada, etc. Just review well for the IELTS and do lots of practice tests. Good luck! 🙂
