Visa Application Payment via Unionbank EON Debit Card

Since our credit limit will not meet the amount we need to pay for visa application BPI advised us to request an increase in our credit card limit, but sadly the bank did not approved the amount we need to pay for the visa application. Then the customer service rep said we may request again after 6 months since we have a recent request for credit limit increase. =( We are a family of 5 kaya medyo malaki ang required payment namin. We only have until Jan 5 to pay for the application.

Can you please share your experience using EON Debit card to pay for your visa application. This info will also be helpful for those who do not have enough credit card limit. Thanks

Ok to.. I used this when I pay my application fee.. Apply ka lang sa unionbank thru online... Then ask them to extend yung limit for visa fee pg kunin mo na yung card.

I actually have EON card that will expire on 10/16 kaso ever since I got it I never used it. I will visit the branch tomorrow to pay for the annual fee. Anong nilagay mo sa application as you pay the visa. Did you tick debit or visa? Nakakatakot kasi kami mag overpayment sa credit card tapos madedecline din unlike yung EON diba pwede mo iwithdraw easily yung money.

@cpa_oct2011 Kapag EON ang ginamit may extra charge pa ba like the 1% surcharge if you use the credit card?

@raiden14 when paying for visa, ang sinusunod ng fx rate is rate ng Union Bank? or ung standard rate on the date na nagbayad ka?

Ok ang eon card, it actually worked for me nung magbayad ako ng visa application fee amounting to around Php 130,000. May surcharge nga lang sya tsaka annual fee pero di naman ganun kalaki kumpara sa convenience na ibibigay nya. Just request na ma-increase yung transaction limit, may form na ffill-upan sa branch tapos after 1 banking day ok na. Hanggang ngayon gamit ko pa rin sya. Pagpunta ko dito Sydney, some of my funds nasa eon card ko lang tapos pwede magwithdraw sa mga atm machines dito, but of course forex conversion and foreign transaction fees apply but nonetheless, two thumbs up ako kay eon. Hmmm I think the rate will be the one from Unionbank, same as we use the BPI when buying online from another country.

I went to Unionbank earlier, they have a limit nga of 100K per day pero they will check daw with the main branch. I also need to have my EON card activated kasi nga never ko sya nagamit.

@ana_gdel may nabasa ako na if we have citibank account here in the Philippines free ang transaction when using it abroad.

itong Eon card po ay savings account na dedepositan para magka fund, tama po ba? Iniisip ko po kasing kumuha na lang nito kasi antagal po ng approval ng credit card na inaapplyan ko e.

@mariem yep. nung nag-apply ako ng EON card last month, nung kinuha ko ung card, pinataasan ko na agad limit. the next day, mataas na limit. hehe. though sa ngayon, di ko pa sya ginagamit. pag maglodge na lang ako maglalagay ng funds dun.

@ram071312 naku with credit card hindi ka pa sure if maaapprove yung amount you requested. Ganyan ang nangyari sa BPI namin kahit maganda yung credit record di nila ibinigay yung credit limit we need unless siguro we requested for 1 time transaction.

@mariem actually po bago ko nag apply ng credit card naitanong ko na kung puede ung taasan ng credit limit to at least 250k sabi nga hindi daw, but I offered na pondohan ung card. Say 100k ang limit, magpapasobra ako ng 150k. Okay naman daw ang ganun. Abg kaso wala pa ring news kung approved e. Kung no news pa rin till next week, apply na lang ako ng Eon..
