My partner tried applying the next day after ceremony but there was a portion in the online application that citizenship details will need to be verified. While it was possible to proceed with the application even if verification failed he did not risk it. Maybe it took a while for the Council to transmit the attendance list and for the passport office to input them to their system. It was already on the 3rd day after the ceremony that verification came through and proceeded with the application.
Processing and shipping of the passport was fast though, it arrived after a week.
