I just cornered my boss one Friday afternoon and told him I am going to Australia - if he can arranged me to become redundant, it would be very much appreciated.

The redundancy didn't happen unfortunately though.

It really depends on your, nothing wrong with telling it upfront. And you don't owe them any explaination as to why you choose to go on.

or a nicer way is to treat him/her on a Lunch or Dinner then drop the bomb!

Nung nagstart ako mag-apply for visa, alam na kagad nung boss ko kasi nagpapirma ako ng detailed COE. Wala pa ko balak magsabi kaso nagtanong e and di ako comfortable magsinungaling. Though small company lang kasi kami so ayos naman. gets naman nya bakit gusto ko umalis.

Nung nag lodge kami nagsabi na agad ako sa boss ko na meron kaming plans na mag migrate at naka pag file na kami .. after 6 months or less nakuha namin yung visa grant sinabi ko na agad at nag resign ... no hassle after a month ng visa grant nasa AU na kami 🙂

ako di pa nakapag resign kahit may ticket na ko ng april 8. nagpaalam na ko sa boss ko na migrate na kame last week. mga march 15 na ko magpasa resignation tapos leave ko na lang ung april para may makuha pa ko last na sweldo ko.

di kasi kami mag ka-vibes ng boss ko at ayaw na ayaw niya ako nawawala sa paningin niya.. haha.. kelangan ko pa mag loan kaya di ako pwede mag resign.. then pag nagresign ako, ipapabayad pa yung mga trainings ng company saken.. mahirapan ako ma clear. although marami ako mandatory leave and vacation leave..

well for now i decided to resign nalang.. effective immediately and applying yung remaining leave sa terminal leave.. hahah ay ambot. nakakafrustrate lang na walang graceful exit. 🙁

hindi naman ako makapag leave ng matagal kasi ayaw niya talaga ako nawawala plus the fact na nasa kalagitnaan ako ng promotion..

In my case naman, waiting for grant pa ako ngayon since Jan 25 but planning to make the move on April 9. When i was informed by our plant manager na merong promotion, i told him 3 days after that i am planning to migrate and we have invitation to apply for PR visa. Then i formally submitted official notice to our HR. Meron kasi upcoming big project at napakabusy sa March 2016 plant maintenance shutdown. I did not get the promotion and 8K salary increase but now, i am very happy with my decision.. alangan naman maging dead-busy pa ako when my focus has shifted already.

I did not have a hard time telling them also because maganda relationship namin.

@Futures melbourne kame mag stay kasi nandun relatives ng wife ko. qantas ung airline namen. kelan ba big move nyo?

so we just found out na papalitan na rin pala yung boss ko ngayon.. and since nakabereavement siya.. and yung new boss will be coming here by next week pa. haha. ang gandang panimula lang.. hehe

Yung sa akin naman, alam na ng boss ko nung magpapaassess pa lang ako kasi need ko pirma nya para sa detailed COE. Kaya from time to time inuupdate ko sya kung ano na status. Minsan sya pa nagtatanong ano na status ng application. Kaya nung may grant na kami hindi na mahirap ipaliwanag. Kaya eto nag aayos na ng clearance para makuha yung last pay, COE and maclear rin sa company. 😃

Hi All. Napabasa lang ako ng thread na to kasi sobrang dilemma lang. Hindi maganda work environment ko ngayon at and I am very tempted to resign kahit hindi ko pa natatanggap ang visa grant (CO contact kami last August pero wala pa rin yung grant namin). The only thing holding me back from resigning is yung salary and medical insurance from this job. Napa-vent lang. Gustong-gusto ko na talaga mag-resign! 🙁

@prayhopejoy when did you lodge and which visa? If you are not happy anymore why torture yourself?

With the thread title... what I did I just inform my manager that I'm leaving soon. When I told him the reason he was supportive...

Hi @batman . I lodged an application for 489 visa last May. Yeah, torture na talaga. Anyways, sana dumating na visa soon or, mauna na ako umalis from work...

Na-CO contact kami and it took us a month to submit the needed docs. Kaya ito nga, we're still waiting for the grant.
