@bebangau I don't know what to say. Parang ang hirap naman ng situation mo. Pero good thing you have something na gusto mo talaga gawin. When I started my application, I was also confused whether it would be best for me to study master of prof. accounting or BS Nursing. Pinag isipan ko mabuti and of course, nagpray for God's guidance. BS Accountancy graduate kasi ako sa Pinas but never ko nagamit. In terms of Nursing, high kasi ang demand. Pareho naman pwede mag PR. But I finally decided to take up masters kasi may unlimited work rights si hubby :-) Mahal kasi masyado tuition fee and kailangan maging practical. Good luck and pray always!

I went to idp to ask about the student dependent visa under svp 573. They told me its processing time is the same for students under svp. So usually daw in 2 weeks time it should be ready. Pero bkt ung kay @peterjoseph 3 months na wala pdin. Im a bit nervous cos im applying in december

6 days to go start na ng class ko and still wala pa din update from embassy!!! 1month and 20 days na ko nag iintay....bat ang tagal ng response nila???? Nakakakaba na toh!!!

Hi traveltart. Just wanted to butt in and give some unsolicited comments about your choice. While it is true that parehong may pathway to PR ang nursing and accountancy professions, the competition for visa invites for accountants has never been stiffer. Also, DIBP decreased the number of invites from 2014 (5000+) to 2015(₂₅₀₀). That's around 50% reduction in the PR slots allocation, which is a bit alarming for accountants who are looking to apply for PR. Based on the forums I've been to, around 20 invited per round lang ang ini-issue lately and sobrang dami Ng backlog for 60-pointers kasi puro 70 pointers ang naiinvite.

Also, since you have never had any work experience in the field, your pathway would likely involve applying for a 485 TR visa (2-years) during which you may have to take up the relevant Professional Year program for accountants (SMIPA ata tawag dun) to get your skills assessment that's needed for skilled migration, so you need to also factor that cost in your computations (if you haven't yet 🙂 )

What I'm trying to say is between Nursing and Accounting, the former gives one greater chances of getting a PR visa although it's more expensive. Kasi halos ganun din yung length of time they you will spend anyway. But as you've said, for practical reasons you chose the latter and that's totally understandable but I suggest as much as possible make sure to also project how many points you might be able to get by the time you finish the course and SMIPA to give you an idea of your chances for a PR by that time.

@appledeuce I truly appreciate your feedback. As much as I wanted to take up Nursing, I can't risk my application. It will be VERY difficult to prove my sudden change of heart. Sasabit ako sa GTE. I have no relevant experience. I didn't study BS Nursing even for a year lang. Do you think it is worth giving a try? If sasabit ako sa GTE, masasayang yung gastos and time. I am really hoping and praying for the best. Hopefully, after 2 years, by the time I'll finish the program, wala na ang backlog and back to 60 points ulit yung invites.

Here's my plan:

After 2 years:

Age -25

Superior English - 20 (I really need to work hard on this! I'll probably take PTE-A)

Australian Educational Qualification - 5

Recognised Bachelor degree - 15

State or Territory Government Nomination - 5 (Can I add this to my points?) If not, I need work for a year in my nominated occupation so that I can add 5 points

Total 70 points

After 3 years:

Age -25

Proficient English - 10 (If I won't be successful in getting the maximum English language ability points)

Australian Educational Qualification - 5

Recognised Bachelor degree - 15

State or Territory Government Nomination - 5

Professional Year - 5

Australian Work Experience - 5 ( Hopefully I can find work in my nominated occupation even for a year to get at least 5 points. I'm just wondering, will volunteer work count?)

@aayan29 they want me to provide follow up documents about the genuine of my relationship with my wife 12 months prior to visa lodgement. Like pictures, letters, chats, etc. Aun. Ngtataka nga ako kasi ang tagal na. Hanggang ngaun wala pa din. Kinakabahan na nga ako eh. Dapat tlga lumabas na un. Dependent ka din ba? 573 svp?

@peterjoseph yes ill be applying palang after we get married this december. They will require pala those proofs even though may marriage certificate na.

@aayan29 ganyan din sakin. Kami kinasal ng june. Tpos ngpasa ako august 11.Hinintay ko pa kasi ung marriage cert. Parehas lng ba ung idp at vfs? Sa vfs kasi ako ngpasa. Ganun din cnbi sakin nung ngpasa ako ng application ko.nkalagay sa acknowledgement ko na din daw ako magbase sa embassy standarts. Na ang nkalagay 14days. Pero nung pinasa ko savfs. Sabi dun 14working days. Pwede daw mas mapabilis pwede din mas mapatagal depende sa circumstances ng application. Sana nga lumabas na ung akin.

@peterjoseph Ah ako kasi naisip ko bka pwde na marriage contract kahit wala pa ung marriage certificate from nso. Grabe naman sobrang tagal. Idp is an agency that caters to visa processing of students and their dependents. May agent ka ba?

@peterjoseph How long ba kyo ng wife mo bfore u got married? Baka ksi ung iba nag papakasal lang sa student para maka punta sa australia. Kaya kahit ksal na nang hihingi padin sila ng proof

@peterjoseph nag change status na ba ung wife mo? Kelangan kasi nya iupdate sa embassy using form 1022 yata. Kasi ung iba nadedeny daw because hindi nkpag change of status ung student
