hi guys! newbie here. ask ko lang dun sa mga nakapag paasses na at nakapg IELTS na and ung application is covered na ng new migration process (july 2012). for the ielts - ung acad ba dapat ang itake ng mga accountants? or the general will do. ang required grade is 7 for all areas - mahirap ba sya? and sa assessment (CPA, ICAA at IPA) - alin ang least strict?

i am a cpa here sa pinas. my work experience involves external audit (1 yr) tapos 8 months na accountant then 5 yrs sa govt. confused ako kung anu skill assessment ako magqualify. can anyone enlighten me on this. thanks fellow accountants!

What was your work in the government Augusto?

My wife will be taking her IELTS tomorrow and she is also an accountant. Her experience was 6 years external audit and 3 years in Financial Reporting. If all goes well, she will apply for assessment as a general accountant.

Google mo din ANZCO job description for Accountants - you can use that as a guide...

If I may answer... You can opt to include your COE - assuming that your skill assessment if successful they can take a look at your work experience and give an opinion on the matter.

@psychoboy Thanks! actually my experience in government involves risk assessment. so parang mas magquaqualify ako as internal auditor based sa definition ng anzco. which is assessed by Vetassess.

meron na ba na-aassess na ng vetassesses sa nyo? tips naman po.

how can you know the number of slots na tinatanggap sa specific position/skill? di ko kc makita sa immigration website nila. panu mo malalaman kung ilan ang yearly quota sa isanag position.

http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/ - punta ka sa tab na reports then click occupation ceiling...

You will see here the allocation on a given year... however THIS IS NOT BEING updated as and when these slots are filled.

As I have understood, it is not needed as the end of the day DIAC will be the ones to determine the number of points to be given with respect to your work experience.

However, you can use this as a barometer on how many points you may claim for work experience when you lodge your EOI. I hope this helps...

I am just wondering though, why are you confusing yourself over this?

Reply to @augusto: ICAA ang pinaka strict, but mas may bearing when looking for a job. Mas mahirap rin ang modules nya in my opinion. I havent heard of IPA ang alam ko NIA.

Ahahaha, buhay talaga... may konting sabit na naman kami ni misis as her previous company cannot be able to provide a detailed job desciption. ang binigay lang was a certification that she was an audit senior/assistant manager during these particular dates... ayun lang!

since sayang din naman ang 1yr plus na experience dun (without this, di aabot ng 8yrs...) we are planning to come up with a statutory declaration that would include why we cannot provide the needed document as well as a list of her responsibility.

has someone in this thread done this previously?

@psychoboy I would suggest that your wife prepare a COE with her major responsibilities. Then give it to her previous company's HR, ask them to review and sign it.

@dreambig sakin qualification assessment lang. My case officer did not ask for my work experience assessment. If your COEs have detailed job descriptions/responsibilities naman, I think okay na yun.

That is the thing Cheron - it is AGAINST company policy to provide anything more than the basic information like tenure of employment, salary, job position...

My wife has a ready copy of her job description but HR will not sign it.

Lousy right?! Ehehehe, we will file a statutory declaration tomorrow which states that such cannot be provided by her previous company as well as a list of her responsibilities and tasks.

I just hope CPA Australia will not have an issue on this. 🙂

@psychoboy Sorry to hear that 🙁 Your last recourse, I agree, is to file a statutory declaration. If your wife's employment contract includes her job responsibilities, I suggest to attach it sa statutory declaration.

By the way, DIAC only recommends the assessment of work experience. In my case, I had a qualification/degree assessment lang sa CPA Australia. My work experience was not assessed (sayang kasi AU$200). Now, We're waiting for my wife's medical clearance.

Err, I think walang bayad sa CPA Australia if you opt for an assessment of your work experience - at least it was not mentioned in the website! 🙂

Ang may bayad ata is if you want to be assess for CPA Membership - ayun AUD 200 ata yun if I remember it correctly.

How is your timeline? How far are you now with respect to reaching the AU dream? EOI? Waiting for CO? etc?

November 2011-online visa application

May 2012 - Case officer assigned

May 24, 2012 - My medical at st luke's extension clinic

May 31 - Police clearances submitted

May 29 - My medicals were finalized

July 23 - Wife's medicals were endorsed to medical officer of the commonwealth

August 20 - CO said that my wife's medicals are still being assessed and it may take a few weeks.

Our CO will finalize our application when my wife's medical clearance is completed. Sana malapit na yun🙂 nakakainip din maghintay.
