i've had phone interviews with 3 different hospitals..all applications were sent through email. it was a panel interview with 3 person asking me at least 3-4 questions each. i'm a nurse so most of the questions were either technical or ethical nursing questions. salary didn't come up during the interview and i did not ask because like in new zealand where i lived before if you get the job, the hospital will give you a job offer and with the salary scale where they think you will fit. if the salary isn't up to your standards, you can still refuse the job offer like i did before and/ or you can negotiate by saying that another hospital/ company has given you this offer and if their company is willing to match the amount. my friends did this during the face to face meet up (contract signing) and they did get a higher salary than what was initially offered.
i accepted the job offer. the offer was sent through email. i did follow up all 3 of my application through long distance calls as was still working in nz and was told they were still deliberating as there were other international applicants. they did promptly email naman if you got the job or not.
in oz, they have face to face contract signing and i bought along with me all my previous work experience certificate kasi i knew i should be on a higher pay scale. in nursing, pay is dependent on number of experience. i was able to negotiate to be in a higher pay scale cause i had evidence to prove i had the number of experience. may agreement ung union ng nurses and govt that they negotiate every year about pay.. and dun mu makikita how much you should be paid based on experience.
resume or CVs in 1st world countries..the shorter and more concise it is then the better. there are heaps of samples in the internet.
proper attire is still formal. most men wear suits or at least a polo shirt long sleeves and jacket kahit walang tie ok lang unless executive/ managerial position and girls wear at least a blouse, pants/ skirt and close shoes specially if the position is a professional one. if white collar positions, at least decent clothes but still close shoes are important. no slippers.
