Yun na nga iniisip ko sir, kaso ayaw ko namang itago yung installer sa laptop din hehe. i'm not planning to bring any ext hdd kasi. Kunsabagay, may 32gb naman na microsd. kasya na siguro dun installer. Di naman siguro kakalikutin pati cellphone! hehe

gawa ka separate partition sa laptop. ibahin mo yung format gawin mo linux fs or other format para hindi viewable sa windows. Ganun ginawa ko sa laptop ko kaya naitago ko yung PS3 at Wii games :-)

kapag subukan nila access yung partition magtatanung na do you want to format this drive kaya akala mo empty hehe

hindi naman tiningnan yung laptop nakadalawang International flight na ko hindi naman tiningnan sa Sydney and Adelaide airport.

I brought 3 1TB hdd. Panay movies and softwares. Hindi naman nila chinek both phil and au. Ok naman. That's my own experience though. And nkakapagdownload ko using torrent dito. Wala din prob. Nasa 500gig na ata movies nadownload ko dito. Hehehe.

Heto napansin ko sa Border Security, chinechek nla hdd mo kapag may nakitang hinde mo dineclare. Like food,etc. Hindi nila priority icheck hdd m. Nagkataon lng na may iba ka dala na hindi dineclare or bawal so gawin nila lahat na ichechek syo including hdd.

@aldousnow : noted! 🙂 papalitan ko na lang extension name ng lahat ng movie files. kaso pag nachambahan ako...baka magtaka sila meron akong .doc na file na 10 to 15GB each. hahaha

Reply to @hotshot: gawain ko yan nung highschool ah. Pinapalitan ko extension name to ".txt" hahaha. Tpos nakita ng kuya ko. "para kang tanga, magpapalit ka lang .txt pa. Notepad 700mb?? Ok ka lang? Ako pa niloko mo parang hindi ako I.T." hahaha. Ang gawin mo na lang ilagay mo sa WINDOWS folder at irename mo na parang windows file. para talaga safe. Ingat ka nga lang sa win folder mo baka may magalaw ka iba.yare.

i just got an idea. although, this is quite expensive but for me it's worth the effort.

i'll do the following steps:

1) fit/trim my whole collection to my existing 2TB HDD

2) buy a new HDD of the same capacity

3) transfer all the goods to the new HDD

4) delete all the goods from the new HDD... who heard it right. ;-)

5) bring the new blank HDD with me to Oz (entrust my old HDD to any relative of mine)

6) recover the deleted files once i get to Oz using a recovery software

so far this is the best idea that i can come up with for now. i-check man sa airport makikita nila blank ung HDD so i wouldn't get any problem.

mahusay talaga mga pinoy sa mga ganyan hehe. tataba ng utak nyo sir. pwede din yan ipandora na lang pagdating dun. diko naisip yun ah. basta wag lang magdadagdag ulit ng files pagkatapos magdelete may chance kasi na maoverwrite nya mga residue files.

Jan tyo magagaling talaga sir - magisip ng kung anu-anong paraan. Hahaha.

Yup kaya nga after ma-copy ung files to the new HDD delete agad tapos di na gagalawin til i-recover jan sa Oz. I'm using a software called "Recover My Files" by the way.

With regards to the old HDD na iiwan ko dito sa pinas, it's just a fallback in case magkaproblema ung data recovery may babalikan pa ako dito. I can deal with it in the future when i got the chance to go home again. :-)

Reply to @rbolante: reliable naman po ba yung "Recover My Files"? di pa kasi ako nakasubok ng kahit anung software to recover deleted files. hehe

Reply to @hotshot: yes sir so far ok naman. dati kasi may na-delete akong 2 movies (2GB each) and i was able to recover it with ease. 🙂
