Hi po, welcome to the forum!
Just sharing po from what I’ve seen and heard from others (not a migration agent or lawyer ah 😅) — but a lot of students have applied and got their next student visa even if they weren’t working at the time.
Having a job can definitely help show that you’re stable and can support yourself, but as far as I know, it’s not really a required condition by Home Affairs. What matters more is that you can show:
- You’re genuinely continuing your studies (GTE)
- You’ve got enough funds or support
- Your course makes sense as the next step (like going from Diploma to Advanced Diploma)
If you can explain those things clearly in your statement and attach the right documents (like proof of funds, tuition payments, etc.), you should still be okay.
But to be safe, it’s best to double-check on the Home Affairs website or talk to a registered migration agent for proper advice.
You got this! Lots of students have been in the same boat and still got approved. Don’t panic, just prepare your docs well. 😊
