@elleb1 Yes, sa may south kami. Gusto namin yung community. Tahimik and very accessible sa transpo, shops, school, church and clinics. May mga interviews naman din, tyaga lang. Praying that soon makapag land na ng right job. Regarding sa move nyo, you still have lots of time para makapag save 🙂 Napansin ko nga na almost comparative naman ang prices ng bilihin. Yung weekly groceries namin dito about aud 150 to 200, which is about the same din nung nasa dxb pa kami.

@mgfg , we passed by riverwood going to campbelltown by train. Magkano rent nyo sa bahay? Ilan kids nyo? Nakakahanap kaya ng odd job pansamatala to cover the costs? TIA sa reply?

@Megger Family of 3 kami, yung toddler namin 4 y/o. Eto ang breakdown of expenses namin:

Rent - 370/ week (2BR)
Groceries - 150 to 200/ week
Internet (TPG) - 60/ month
Electricity - 150/ month (yung water kasama na sa rent)
Mobile phone (Telstra) - 30/ month, total of 60/ month for me and wife
Misc (dine out, pasyal, etc) - approx 200/ month

Ang nakukuha namin sa centrelink ay 225 per forthnight plus child care. Regarding naman sa work, di pa ako nagtry maghanap ng odd jobs. It's our 3rd month na dito and so far sa savings kinukuha yung living expenses..

@mgfg yong kids ko ay 8 and 12y/o. So wala ka pa palang school fees Bro... paano ka nga pala naghanap ng bahay Bro? May reservation ka na ba dun bago lumipat, o sa Oz ka nalang talaga naghanap. Salamat po ulit sa reply...

@mgfg God bless on your job hunt! Buti nman at mabilis lang yung centrelink nakaka receive na agad kaau. Malaking tulong din kahit papano sa house rent. Thanks for sharing din sa monthly expenses nyo. Nung nag apply kayo sa centrelink nilagay nyo sa estimated income is minimum wage like approx 45000 annual? Yung transpo nyo sa ngayon by train din and how much yung budget (opal)? Maraming salamat sa updates!

@elleb1 , regarding train fare, just to share my experience ksi pumunta kami ng provencial south na talaga and lumabas kmi sa museum station ng sydney around 6 AUD lang ang nabawas. Have you tried going around the city by train? Nung kami puro train kasi Ung airBNB house namin sa Turella ay halos nasa train station lang, around 2AUD lang ang nababawas every time bumaba kami within the city. Sa airport lang ang malaki, nasa 17, tapos 19 nung galing kaming southland.

@Megger oo nag train din kami yung fare namin close to 4-5 aud pero 2 stops na yun papuntang city tapos nag train din kami pa airport halos same tayo🙂 yung plan namin sa next move kc mahirap ata kumuha ng apartment pag wla pa work, air bnb muna cguro for a month then tsaka na mag tingin kung pued lumipat ng apartment. Baka matulungan kayo ng friend nyo jan sa paghanap ng apartment pued cla yung mag view ng house while offshore pa kayo. God bless!

@elleb1 @Megger bro, sis. Di pa nagschool yung toddler namin pero ienroll na namin sya after his bday this month 🙂 Si wifey house muna until settled na sa school then eventually maghanap sya ng part time job.

Regarding sa train fare, ang pamasahe ko from riverwood to Sydney CBD ay nasa 6 or 6.50 aud. di kami masyadong lumalabas, pag may interviews lang and paminsan minsan na pasyal. We also have a friend here who drives us around, kaya malaking tulong nadin.

Regarding centrelink naman. On-line ang application. You need to disclose yung sources of income nyo and upload supporting documents like visa, passport, rent agreement (for rent assistance) Eto kasi yung basis ng govt to calculate. If wala pang work, at least estimate of your income. May option naman to update these details once magkawork na. Unfortunately wala ako idea kung pano ang computation. Magsisend ang gov't ng letter sa inyo indicating how much ang makukuha ninyo. We are receiving every 16th and 30th of the month.

@Megger By the way bro, airbnb muna kami nung dumating dito tapos saka palang naghanap. Tingin-tingin sa mga websites and visited the units based on the advertised inspection dates. Nakahanap naman kami kaagad. Inapplyan namin agad yung unit na gusto namin and we personally visited the agent's office to submit our spplication and supporting documents (bank statements, visa, passport) We initially offered to pay 5 months advance rent, but thankfully di na nila pinabayaran. Normal payments lang kami: 2 weeks bond and 2 weeks advance rent to secure the property. Then subsequent rental payments na..
