@Megger so far wla pumapansin kc offshore pa kami ngayon, tinatanong palagi kung nasa Oz na. Si hubby is microbiologist and Oct 15 yung punta nya sa Sydney. Susunod kami ng daughter ko pag me work na cya.

@MayoMay same tayo ng case nag initial entry kami ng March for 10 days lng kc yung deadline namin for initial entry is June 2017. Multiple entry naman tayo for 5 years. Yung timing talaga ng job hunt is depende sa occupation though maganda daw after na ng christmas and new year break nila. Yung husband ko pupunta na ng Oct though hindi ideal pero at least makaumpisa na ng job hunt. Walang pumapansin sa application nya dahil offshore cya. God bless sa big move nyo! Same tayo Sydney din kami, wala kami relatives dun kaya mauna muna si hubby sunod lng kami ng daughter ko pag me work na cya.

Musta sa lahat. Ask ko lang po. Assuming you have chosen the house na i rent mo, you have the money, and you have the docs required for the rental. How long will it take para ma close mo yong deal at pwed na kayong magrelocate sa house to rent? Salamat po sa sasagot.

@Megger Depende sa mayari at sa agent usually in 2weeks time okay na. Dito nga lang sa Melb pahirapan kumuha ng house, dami kasing applicants. Even yung mga highly paid na employees nahihirapan ding kumuha ng rental property.

@Megger depends of factors such as 1.) Is the current house occupied or not? as it will take the current occupants to hand over the key to the property agent/manager prior your occupancy date. 2.) Payment terms - depends if you agreed to pay an amount agreed and specified in your rental contract. Usually pay the rent bond and week paid rent in advance. You got to clear this with your property agent. Be ready lang sa pag move in kasi the longer you don't have other stream of income coming in (say no job yet as you arrive), the longer the difficulty when finances are hard. You have no other choice but your savings shall be all used up in catching weekly rent payments.

@Cassey , @jedh_g , curious lang, if you will have an advance payment, does it mean na the next pay will be the end of the advance? Say, 6 weeks advance, your nxt payment will be on the 7th week? Thanks sa reply. God bless..

@Megger it is just a basic rule to not be delinquent on the date you should pay the rent. You could do advance payment yes. Usually, advance payment if you got excess cash to pay for it.

@jedh_g , thanks sa reply. Kumuha ka pa ba ng mga trade licences bago ka nakapag work dyan? In general kailangan ba yan specially sa field natin, engineering and techs? TIA.

@Megger all depends on your vast array of professional experience sa pinas. What I got here is Engineers Australia active membership and Construction white card. If you're working into mining, employer requires the confined space amd working at heights trade courses. But on the final note, I recommend you pass and gain the Type C driver license so you could both be allowed to drive manual and automatic transmission car. I tell you, not all pinoys have it pass on their first take despite driving experience sa pinas. I highly recommend to prioritize gaining your driving license as this is your first line of advantage in scouting for work. Lastly, polish your CV well in Australian format. All the best mate!

hi @elleb1 same pala tayo, hubby din if ever mauuna. plan ni fiance ko after year na sya magpunta. let me know ha ano updates ng mister mo sa sydney with regards sa job hunting. ni isa kasi wala tumatawag sa fiance ko kasi nasa pinas din.. gsto gsto ko na pumunta kaso mahirap naman sabay. tapos pareho wala work. let me know if i can add you sa fb para makapag pm ako in case may inquiry :-)

Question po, kakatapos ko lang po makuha yung result ng smear test ko and negative naman yung result. Ang sabi saken mag xray ulit ako pagkalabas ng culture test. Kelangan daw parehong pareho daw yung magiging resulta with the first xray. Kung dumami ung white spots baka mag treatment, pag kumonti depende daw sa iadvise ng immi. may naka experience po ba dito na yung 2nd ray ay kumonti yung white spots? Pa share naman po ng experience...

Just yesterday, I got shortlisted for final interview among 700 applicants vying for QANTAS aircraft maintenance engineer. I was so elated to note that I came that close among other candidates who were mostly fresh university grads and I'm one of the "kuya" among them. It was a first time experience this time, group sessions followed by one-on-one. I am glad having this opportunity came across after a year here in Australia.

The opportunities are:

4 year fixed term TAFE college (combination of university and hands-on at airport facility grounds).
While studying sponsored by QANTAS, you are paid, wow!
Leading to CERT IV diploma upon graduation - equivalent to another engineering degree
Potential career leading into license aircraft maintenance engineer

Plus, another employer set me up for another interview - a Perth based trucking company offering me a permanent job as a maintenance supervisor.

So, it was a year experience with my family here with lots of ups and downs. But we should be thankful as we learn to stay resilient despite the issues we faced here.
