Pregnant clients
The Australian Government does not recommend undergoing chest x-rays whilst pregnant.
If you are pregnant, you may decide to postpone your chest x-ray until after the birth
of your child. If you are from a country considered higher risk for Tuberculosis (see
www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Heal/Meeting-the-health-requirement/Health-examinations)
this means that a decision will not be made on your visa application until after the birth of
your child.
If you are in Australia and are pregnant, you will have been asked to complete a hepatitis
B test. Most women will complete hepatitis testing as part of their neo-natal care plan. If
this applies to you provide your case officer with a copy of your test results. You should not
attend an onshore medical clinic to repeat this test.
