@angelwheng, totoo ma'am, need talaga matching job description. Sa JD ng wife ko, not actually chemist or chemtech ang nakalagay, but technical specialist. Pero same lab work din, so noong di na available ang chemist, chemtech na ang most related skill.

BTW, sa SA po ba kayo nagwowork? We plan to move sa SA by March. Hope we could connect. We have no acquaintance in SA and would appreciate every help we could get, specially in finding a job. I'll send po a pm.

Hello to all based on my experience po way back 2013 nung nagapply kami for 190 (available pa sya noon for chemist as PR) hindi po ako nagpaassess as "chemist" sa vet assess although I graduated as such. What I did was to have my skills assess as "Lab Manager" since yun ang medyo matagal ko ng napapractice though sa lab din po ako nagwowork just to be sure. The thing with vetassess is that ung job description ng skill na inaapply mo for assessment should really match with what you have done or actually doing for a certain no of years..ok lang magpaassess ng ibang skills such as chem tech for as long as matching ung job desc ng vetassess sa nasa mga docs na isasubmit nyo. We landed in adelaide in 2015 and not to disheartened anyone but landing a job as chemist is quite difficult. It took me 1.5 years before I got back in the lab but 12mos of that was because I got pregnant. However, I must say that connections are really important here once you have arrived and once you have that "working exp" it can take you wherever state you'd like to settle. 🙂 I'm working in a pharmaceutical company and what I noticed was ung mga chem tech namin once may vacancy sa chemist role sila na rin un nila-line up for the role so stepping stone lang usually nila ung chem tech. There is always a way mga kapwa kimiko just plan everything and act on it. Hope to bump with one of you here in SA in the future. 😉

@ignorms when we arrived here in 2015, wala rin kami kakilala, walang relatives, walang work and muntikan ng walang matirhan upon arrival and with only a few bucks in our pocket but God really works His ways and so we ended up with good people whom we considered our families now. So just go on with the aussie dream. Stay strong, believe and persevere especially in finding a job. Dont be too picky sa start cause It will all end well.

I'm happy to see na may thread na for chemists here sa pinoyau. The company that Im working for will mostlikely hire another chemist or technician because someone resigned dun sa department na pinanggalingan ko. Im.not just sure when.

Hello po fellow pinoy chemists,

Newbie po sa group.

I am currently here in Melbourne studying Master of social work (Ibang field) kasi wala pa po yung chemist occupation sa SOL dati. But nabuhayan ako ng loob nung nabalitaan ko na kasama na ulit yung chemist. naka-student visa po ako now.

I have 2 years experience in the Philippines (2015-2017) as laboratory analyst/ chemist at tingin ko pasok naman sa duties un ginagawa ko dun sa skills ng ANZCO.

Papano po ba nila icount yung post qualitifications employment? aabot po kaya ng 1year experience?

And nggraduate po ako sa UST sana po recognized din nila at kapantay ng AQF sa Australia

Planning also to use the chemist occupation for PR (Visa 189) instead na magaral pa ulit ng ilang semester at gumastos ng malaki at hndi pa related un course ko ngayon sa tinapos ko dati.

Ano po mrerecommend nyo sakin? mgpaassess na po ba ako sa migration agent? o self application? para alam ko po gagawin kong steps kung eligible po ako for PR.

@CJMendioro0621 Hi! First step is have your skills assessment. Check the Chemist or Chemistry Technician skills and see saan mas fit ang previous skills mo. Have your skills assessment muna, gather your documents and prepare as soon as possible habang nasa list na ulit ang Chemist.

I believe ang post-qualification employment starts after your degree (at least a Bachelors degree na related sa field mo, in our case, Chemistry).

@markier87 thanks po sir sa pagsagot. Actually may kausap na po akong migration agent na pinoy based here in Melbourne para malaman if eligible ba ko mgapply. I just want to know other opinions po. And magtake ako ng PTE para medyo makuha ko yung pointa. Ayun nga po. Sana hndi po agad tanggalin yung chemist para kahit papano maihabol ko yung pgapply. Kasi gather documents pa tapos PTE exam pa.

Nagwoworry din po ako sa post qualification employment ko baka kasi hnd 1 year maassess skanila. E 2 years lang nman po kasi experience with the same company (March 2015-April 2017) sana makaabot ng atleast 1 year yung experience ko. Para maging positive sa result nila. Binabasa ko din po mga past threads ng group na to. Para makuha ko din po mga techniques before taking my steps to apply for PR.

@markier87 sir oo nga pala pwede po ba mgpaskills assessment sa vetassess kahit wala pang ielts/PTE? para alam kong papasok yung tinapos at work experience ko. At problemahin ko nlng yung PTE ko. Thanks po. Pwede din po malaman requirements sa Vetassess skills assessment?
