nd when i tried searching the occupafion in this website, di daw siya eligible for visa 189 https://www.anzscosearch.com/search/

pero there was another MLTSSL list for Visa 186 and 457 na included nga si chemist.

As far as I know if you are applying for 189 and 489 (family sponsored) you need to nominate an occupation in MLTSSL (old SOL)

Hi. I have to agree with @purplehaze, wala sa 189 and 190 ang Chemist. Nasa 186 and 457 na sya.

Though I have a question, Chemistry Technician kasi is still on 190 but what I have is positive assessment for Chemist. Would it be okay to use that assessment to apply for 190 under Chemistry technician skill?

Meron lang 2 list ng occupations for migration to Australia effective 1-July-2017

a. MLTSSL (old SOL)

b. STSOL (old CSOL)

MLTSSL - applicable to 189 visa, 489 visa (family sponsored)

STSOL - applicable to 190 visa, 489 visa (state sponsored)

For work visa (457 there are two types, short term (2 yrs) and long term (4yrs).

a. If you apply for work visa and your occupation is included in MLTSSL - work visa applicant can be given 4 yrs visa

b. if you apply for work visa and your occupation is included in STSOL - work visa applicant

can only be given 2 yrs visa

Visa 186 - is a DIRECT entry PR given to employee sponsored by an employer. There are also caveats on some occupations in the list.

The combined list is for Visa 186 and 457.

If you are applying for any of the below:

Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) – Points-tested stream

Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) - Family nominated

Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) – Graduate Work Stream.

you will need to nominate an occupation from the MLTSSL of the relevant legislative instrument – see: IMMI 17/072 Specification of Occupations and Assessing Authorities.

Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)

Sadly, wala na talaga yung Chemist sa 190.

@krizzymalasig if that's the case, is chemistry technician related to chemistry? if yes, chemistry technician is in South Australia Supplementary skills list for state sponsorship. Either 190 or 489.

In order to nominate an occupation from SA supplementary skills,you need to meet any of the 4 conditions.

high points (must have 80 points including SS)
job offer
family/relatives in SA
graduate from SA university

Check it out, you may qualify as chemistry technician. :-)

@krizzymalasig ask ko lang sa 186 that means maghahanap ka muna ng employer na mag sponsor? pano pala yun that means mag start na mag pass ng applications online and see if may willing magsponsor?

seems like yun lang tlga ang path na pwede for chemist ngayon.

nagpa assess na din ako sa vetassess. kakasubmit ko lang ng requirements.

Does 186 and 457 need a job offer bago makapaglodge?

And yung stream 2 for NSW, pwede pa rin ba tayo dun considering na nasa MLTSSL naman tayo?

Hi, fellow chemists!

I agree, the "Chemist" skill is quite unclear for now. Sa pagkakaintindi ko, we need to be sponsored by an employer for a chance to have a skilled migration. (refer to @krizzymalasig's post above)

My options, for now: 485, 186 or 457.

If may alam kayo about sa stream 2 ng NSW since nasa MLTSSL naman tayo, please share here as well.

BTW, I tried for the NSW Stream 2 but I was not allowed to submit my EOI kasi wala daw a list ang Chemist. Will try Chemistry Technician and see what happens.
