PDOS for 189

I hope someone can enlighten me what PDOS is, who is it for, and what to expect from it. Do we really need to attend one? How about the appointment - is there a waiting list or not really? How about our kids? Do they need it as well? Kindly please share your experiences. Thanks in advance. 🙂

I am also wondering if holders of PR visas granted IN Australia are still required to attend this PDOS. It is mentioned, though, in the Visa fact sheet that came with the visa grant letter that PR visa holders are required to attend this seminar. Hopefully someone can shed some light. Thanks.

PDOS(pre departure orientation seminar). They will discuss life in Au etc..it is a requirement of philippine immigration and you cannot leave Ph without the CFO sticker.If your visa is granted in Australia, when tou go for vacation to Ph, you will still ask by immigration of the sticker and therefore required to attend one. In Manila, you need to book online. Pls check the website if minors are required to attend personally. In Cebu, walk-ins only

@Cassey no exceptions kahit matagal ka na Au..di na nga relevant mga sasabihin nila don kasi alam mo na..

@fgs Yun nga sinasabi ko sa hubby ko baka mas alam mo pa yung life dito kesa sa mga speakers. I-overhaul sana nila yung sistema nila. Anyway, we have to abide the law para iwas aberya sa immigration. 🙂

ideally you should be exempted. pero alam mo naman immigration at airport staff sa pinas, gusto mo ba sumakit ulo mo hehe. last time meron dun sa tax exemption booth hindi alam ano 189 diskumpyado pa na PR visa talaga haha

Yup, plus kapag umattend ka ng pdos may sticker yan sila ilalagay sa passport. Depende sa immigration officer, pwedeng tignan din un. Ewan ko lang ngaun kasi si duterte na president baka medyo maayos na sila haha

Kumuha nalang kung may chance for peace of mind. Halfday lang nman yan and once ka lang kukuha unless mag migrate ka ulit sa ibang bansa habang pinoy passport ka pa

@Cassey if you're coming from QC, madali mo 'to makikita kasi nasa dulo lang sya ng SLEX via Pasay Road intersecting Quirino avenue (Taft)

@Cassey We went there 1 hour before. Ang daming tao at mahaba pila. 2pm yung start ng orientation pero di kami umabot. Blessing in disguise actually kasi pina-proceed na kami sa orientation. After the orientation na na-process yung papers and passports namin... wala ng pila. Parang mas ok nga na ma-late na lang para derecho orientation hehehe 🙂

Mahirap din pala ang parking if you'll bring your own car 🙂
