I'm assuming na:

You're taking up PDOS before leaving PH
Have a 1 way PH -> SG ticket
Have a SG -> AU ticket before ka umalis ng Pinas.

Chances are the PH Immig Officers will be looking for all of the above.

Sa case ko, we didn't do the PDOS (walang time) but hindi naman hinanap coz SG PR pa kami ng bumalik ng SG.

Malaki kasi interest sa CPF funds mo, as compared to putting it to banks here.

One thing to note is that it can be quite a hassle to withdraw your CPF from AU. If I am not mistaken, a friend had to go to Canberra para lang malakad lahat.

@Miyawski Actually state sponsored ako ng ACT 🙂 Pinagiisipan pa namin since ang worry namin is ung funds nga to move to OZ. Preferred namin is to use my CPF para makabili ng bahay na dun kasi once na withdraw ko sya mauubos at mauubos lang if mapupunta lang sa monthly gastos.

I agree -- you should start looking for a job while you're still in SG. One might say suntok sa buwan but you'll never know until you try. A friend of mine, also SG based noon, managed to find a Sydney based job while nasa SG sya so minimal ang downtime nya when he landed in AU. Yeah. he got lucky.

Not sure if you're aware but once you land in AU, you might be eligible for financial support from the government, lalo na if you have kids.

guys ask lang kasi pabago bago ng rules ang vicroads need pa ba ng international driving license or just PH license enough (6mos pwede mag drive diba gamit ph license)

@Miyawski Yup pumunta din kami ng ACT last year. Yung bus terminal nila at 7:30 pm e pang horror movie na hehe walang katao tao.

Oo nga pala about renouncing PR, gaano pala katagal yung process? Makukuha mo ba lahat including medisave? yung amount reflected sa cpf e wala pang yung interest dun diba? Thanks!

@layao2002 LOL... ganun talaga dun. ung public transpo ay di masyado optimized unlike dito sa SG. may mga stops at stations na mag-isa ka lang talaga =))

Kaya naman yung iba -- tulad ko 🙂) -- eh pinapa-convert na muna ang PH DL to SG DL. Direct conversion kasi ang SG DL to AU DL.

Actually part of the reason kaya ayaw namin sumugal na lumipat agad without guaranteed work kasi we have a new born baby. financially di pwede mabakante hehe, I heard about that financial support from government pero is it really that enough? and we have no idea how to be eligible or yung process to claim. </blockquote>Enough to live by without using your savings? Nope. Siguro for a family of 3 like yours, the financial assistance will help cover your utility bills and siguro a week or 2 worth of groceries. Ang Centrelink ang mag-a-assess ng eligibility mo, and kung magkano ang matatanggap nyo.

Kung game ka naman pwede ka namang kumuha ng odd jobs to augment yung natatanggap mo from the government.

Thanks!</blockquote>In our case, we alloted 3 days for renunciation at withdrawal ng CPF. A friend of mine I believe did it in a day. ICA sa umaga, tapos diretso CPF after. Kung anuman ang nasa CPF account (OA, SA at Medisave) mo will be passed on to you, including interest... less any withholding amount (tax etc).

If you're gonna convert from PH DL to AU DL, you will have to go through:

Booking and taking a Learner Permit Test
Once you pass the above, you'll have to book and take the Hazard Test
Once you pass the above, you'll have to book and take the (actual) Drive Test

Then you'll get your Probationary (P) License. In Victoria, you'll get a P2 (Green) License. Next progression mo will be Full License (AFAIK, it takes 3 years on P2 to get a Full License -- not sure if that's applicable for conversion of PH DL).

@prcand ok lang kung sa bus stop magisa eh. Pero yung bus station nila mismo walang tao e hehe. Parang may apocalypse na nangyari
