Hello everyone! This is a repost from our friendly agent Ruth Mendones.
As many may have heard from yesterday's Government announcement, there is a proposal to introduce a temporary visa for parents of immigrants to come and stay for a continuous 5 years.
The details of how the visa will work is still unclear. However, this means that immigrants can reunite with their parents and grand-parents faster rate and cheaper than what the current visas in the system offers.
From my perspective this is a very much welcome move of the Government as it means, the young families can get the support of their parents in raising their family in this amazing country. For those of us, who are second generation migrants, it's amazing news to allow us to spend more time with our grandparents and learn more about our family and culture.
If you want your voice to be heard about this new proposed visa, and how it will work, you can make submission to the Government. Read the Discussion paper on the visa here:

and any suggestions, you can email the Government directly on: temporary.parent.visa@border.gov.au
Thanks everyone! and.... yes I haven't forgotten about section 48 bar discussion, it's coming! đŸ™‚
Have a great weekend everyone!
