Using Australian PR visa to enter New Zealand

tanong ko lang po, may nakasubok na po ba pumasok ng NZ using their OZ PR visa? wala na po bang visa required basta may OZ PR visa ka na? 🙂

Citizens and permanent residents of Australia

Citizens and permanent residents of Australia (who do not have certain criminal convictions) may visit, live and work in New Zealand indefinitely. Upon arrival, Australian citizens are exempted from the requirement to hold a permit and Australian permanent residents are granted a residence permit.

Please remember that you may stay in New Zealand until the date shown on the permit in your passport. If you remain in New Zealand after your permit expires then you may be arrested, removed and banned from returning to New Zealand for up to five years. Please make sure that you have a valid permit at all times while you are in New Zealand.

follow-up question lang po....pano kung hindi pa ko nakapag-initial entry for my AU PR visa, considered na bang active ang pagka-PR ko sa oz kaya pwede na ko pumasok ng NZ (kahit wala pang initial entry sa oz)? 🙂

@hotshot - I think it is better mag email ka sa NZ embassy, baka sakaling ok. Sa alam ko kasi even if may PR visa ka hindi pa rin yun in effect unless pumasok ka sa Au. And mapapaso din if you can't make it on/before IED.

Dream ko rin pumunta sa NZ, buti ka pa nakaplano na. The best daw is long-drive naka campervan.

ay hindi po bakasyon ito. hehehe! actually i was wishing na sana hindi muna valid ang AU visa ko para makapasok sa NZ kasi di pa alam ng mga bossings ko na AU PR na ako. kaso, biglang sinabihan ako ngayon na kelangan ko magbusiness trip to NZ. pag nalaman nila na hindi ko na kelangan magapply ng visa, magdududa na mga yun for sure. paranoid lang ako. hehehe

@jaero : lalong magdududa mga boss ko kasi iisipin nila bakit ko pa kelangan mag-stop sa oz. hahahaha

@hotshot - sounds like may visa label ang passport mo, otherwise wala sanang issue. Pero duda rin syempre boss mo kung hindi ka kukuha nang visa sa NZ.

Not sure if may direct flights to NZ, noon kasi usually via Oz lang. Get a booking na via Oz, just make sure you have enough time to get out and board again as advised by @jaero.

Or get an NZ Visa, explain na lang if mag query ang embassy re your OZ Visa. Maganda naman yang 'problema' mo. Hope you'll get other tips sa ibang members nang forum.

tumawag na po ako dun sa NZ Embassy dito sa sg. ang sabi nila hindi pa daw activated ang oz visa ko kasi hindi pa nag-initial entry. so, kelangan ko magapply ng NZ visa if i am flying there directly from singapore. 🙂
