@Bryann won't recommend it specially since there are lay by furniture in oz naman. i shipped my things from nz to au cost me around 3k nzd via shared container van for 2 months plus. the only pro was we had appliances (like the full lot of appliances from fridge to tv.) na from nz which were only a year old so really wanted to bring them instead of buying new appliances kasi if you work it out..3k nzd is still cheaper than buying brand new specially for tv and whitewares.
so work out how much you will save and how much will you spend if you do ship your items.. sometimes it does warrant to ship them if you really have nice things back home. pero if the cost of shipping them..and upon checking the prices on items online sa au is almost similar or it works out cheaper to buy new in au then think about it.
shipping items usually takes 2 months..so imagine if you can live for 2 months in au without a bed or fridge..hahahah..kasi kami we borrowed items from my sister if my sister wasn't here super mahirap na walang gamit sa bahay.
also with appliances..ask if ok bah if galing pinas kasi may rulings sila about electrical appliances na dapat ganito specs and etc. you would need an adapter for most of your things kasi the prong tips won't fit in the oz electrical sockets.
but as for the furniture mas ok na dito na lang in au in retrospect or should have just gotten a fully furnished apartment. kasi furniture wise..madaming lay bys or if you want talaga cheap there's lots of 2nd hand but ok pa din quality madami sa gumtree or ikea if you want brand new🙂
for odd shaped items like bikes and furniture.. you would really need a shared container van kasi yung boxes are priced per cubic metre. so if odd shaped items.. they will price it based on the space you take up sa shared container van.
