Migration Agent wants me to provide my EOI and the password

hi, I recently asked help from a migration agent for process our PR visa, me and my wife. My wife would be the primary visa and I would be the dependent. But before seeking help from a migration agent, I already applied for an EOI for 189 and 190. And just a while ago I received an invitation to apply for 190 Visa. We wanted to have the same migration agent to help us move with the 190 Visa, but he's asking for the password of my EOI.

Is it OK to provide the password to an agent? Don't registered agents have access to any EOI as long as they have the EOI number?

are you sure you still want to proceed with engaging an agent? sayang your almost there and you have done it without any help from an agent.

@Anino78, I had thought of that but I already made a downpayment with the Agency and I was advised by some friends to get an agent because of the complex requirements for visas with dependents (who is my wife). I guess I will still pursue with the agency and hoping we could lodge the visa before the offices go into holiday.

I see. if thats the case then you have no choice but to provide them your EOI and password because if im not wrong they need to register you as their client and all DIBP transactions will now be by the agency.

Just to let u know. alot of our kababayans here have done their visa applications by themselves or what we call as DIY. I myself did our application by myself and I have 2 dependants (my wife and baby). anyways good luck on you application and all the best!

@bluezaido not sure about that but I have a friend who did just that. He had appointed an agent to assist them in their application, so far the agent has already assisted them in his VETASSESS until I adviced him about the cost for visa application and how he can save by doing it on his own. They were able to get half of their downpayment.

Maybe you can ask you agent and at the same time check the contract you signed with the agency regarding withdrawal/terminationof contract.

Hi Bluezaido,

Congratulations on your invite. First, if the agent you approached is a Registered Migration Agent. They are bound by the code of conduct and part of states that you either party can terminate the contract. Any money owing must be returned to the client or paid to the agent as stipulated in the contract.

I suggest read the details of the contract, there should be a termination clause included. It will state what is payable if you back out. It will be deducted sa deposit na binayaran mo.
