ACS Job but CPA course - which ANZSCO Code to take?

Hi guys!

Baka may nakaexperience na sainyo nito:

University Course ko is BS Management Engineering - so puro business courses sya like accounting, math, finance, marketing, etc.

Pero after graduation, nag IT ako, so super software engineer ang experience ko, total 5 years.

My dilemma:

ACS - if paassess ako here, unsuitable kasi non-ICT course right?

CPA - if paassess here, likely na positive result BUT 0 experience ba lalabas since software eng ako? Pwede ba un? Haha

Kasi if I wait 6 years to apply for an RPL, 0 pts rin naman un sa ACS. 😐

Hopefully may nakaexperience (at nakagawa na nito successfully)!

ICT ang nominated occupation mo, so ACS dapat. You're correct in your assumption that you need to go thru RPL.

@rich88 I see. Masyado kasi akong excited, gusto ko na maglodge, now I have to wait for another year to get the 6 yr work experience 😐 Thanks

But how will you gain points for the NON ICT degree that you have? Given na ok na ung RPL mo?

@tesu ACS will assess how many years of experience will be deducted to your total (minimum 6-8 years for non-ICT degrees); however, they won't be able to assess your degree because as you've said, it's non-ICT.

In order to get your degree recognized in AU, you need to have it assessed by VETASSESS. They will decide whether your degree is bachelor (15 pts), associate degree (10 pts), or diploma (10 pts).

Hi @rich88, maraming salamat sa information. This is very helpful. I am in the same situation as @karamander. I have a bachelor's degree in Management Accounting. Naka pa assess na ako at postive yung results sa CAA (Chartered Accountants). I have about 8 years experience as Network Admin. Pero Management Accounting yung chosen occupation ko dahil sa Course ko.

Question:

If I were to nominate an ICT occupation, will I still need to get my degree assessed by VETASSESS even though na-assess na course ko as Bachelor's Degree equivalent sa CAA?

Maraming salamat po talaga sa help. I just need 5 more points kasi. I'm currently 65 pts lng kasi sa nominated occupation ko (Management Accountant). If I can get points for experience and still retain my points sa qualification, malaking tulong po.

@Krisdi Sorry, I'm not sure if nirerecognize ng DIBP ang assessment ng CAA.
