Visa Label/Stamp on Passport

Hi everyone! I just want to confirm if visa stamp/label on the passport is not required anymore? I went to the viac office today to have my visa labeled but they told me it isn't needed and that i just have to bring the visa grant notification in the airport. They also gave me some sort of a memo from diac which states that visa labels arent needed starting june 1 2012.

With effect from June 2012, Australia no longer use label or stamp for visa grant. only need the visa grant notification letter.

@vinpack My husband and I arrived in Australia as migrants last Aug 2012. He is holding a Partner Visa and does not have any visa label on his passport. He just presented his visa grant letter from DIAC along with his passport to the immigration officer and he was able to pass through without any problem. Good luck!

@diane16 - am curious, ano po itong visa grant letter? is this the one you get as an email when you were approved and just print out?

@psychoboy Ung sa hubby ko, nung ininform sya through email about the approval of his visa,, my naka-attach pa na pdf file don sa email. Ung pdf file na un is ung copy ng visa grant letter nya containing his details and the visa grant number. Dala nya ung print out na un and un ung pinakita nya sa immi officer.
