For Married:

this is the easy, just show your marriage certificate

For De-facto:

you have to answer and satisfy the "relationship requirements"

This is a query, if this is possible or not:

For Engaged

i noticed that there is status "ENGAGED" in the application form
if this is used during the application, and then include the fiance/fiancee?, assuming they are not living together (as one of the requirements for de-facto).
IF, after the visa is approved but before landing in AU, you got married, can they just use the form: Form 1022 Notification of changes in circumstances, which will fall under "new member of the family unit"

According to DIAC, Examples of changes in circumstances include:

changes to address and/or contact details changes to employment, (such as a new job)
obtaining a new passport

- new member of the family unit

you or a secondary applicant has become pregnant
discovery that information previously provided is incorrect.

im not suggesting this, i'm just asking if this is allowed?

English Requirements for Secondary Applicants

You must provide one of the following:

a) your IELTS TRF Number to show you have a band score of at least four and a half (4.5) based on all four components. Important: If you are using an IELTS test to show functional English, it must be from a test sat no more than 12 months before making your application.

b) evidence that you have a degree, diploma or trade qualification requiring at least two years of full time study or training with all instruction conducted in English

c) evidence that you have completed at least one year of full time study in Australia towards a degree or diploma qualification with all instruction conducted in English

d) evidence that you have completed one of the following at an educational institution where all instruction was conducted in English:your primary education and at least three years of secondary education, or at least five years of secondary education.

For De-Facto, here are some examples of supporting documents we provided:

personal statement covering factors stated in DIAC's requirements (see below), where did you meet, how the relationship developed.. parang love story .. commitment and plans...
signed statements of family and friends regarding their knowledge about the relationship, this is very important to show that the relationship is accepted by family and friends..
provide proof (such as pictures, cards) of special occasions (xmas, bday, anniversary)
provide proof (picture, visa, passport stamp) of your travel together
telephone bills, emails, chat (at times when you were not together), we provided history of ym chat, makikita ito dun sa yahoo conversation history, parang summary kung kelan tumawag at gaano katagal ang bawat tawag...
bank statements (showing transfer of funds/remittance from one bank account to the other)
if you are living together, bills showing the same address..
if not living together, provide statement (example in middle eastern countries, hindi pwede pag hindi kasal)

Some of the factors to be considered in deciding whether the partners satisfy the requirement include:

•knowledge of each other's personal circumstances

•financial aspects of the relationship, joint financial commitments such as real estate or other assets and sharing day-to-day household expenses

•the nature of the household, including living arrangements and joint care and responsibility for any children of the relationship

•the social aspects of the relationship, provided in statements (statutory declarations) by friends and acquaintances

•the nature of the commitment, including duration of the relationship, how long the couple has been living together and whether they see the relationship as a long-term one.

Hello po sa lahat.. Ask ko lang po kung paano mag-apply ng De Facto sa Skillselect? Sa pagkaka-alam ko po, online po ang pagpasa ng docs sa Skillselect, tama po ba? yung proof po ng de facto relationship - iscan po ba at isusubmit online? or send po lahat ng proof by mail?

@lock_code2004 - Sir, may short stay visa na po ako kasi I will doing a Bridging Program for Nurses this coming January po. My partner (bf) also got his tourist visa para po ma-visit nya ko maybe Feb.. At the same time, prino-cess napo namen ang ACS assessment nya and just got the positive result 26th Nov.. nag-apply na po kami agad ng EOI nya also that day.. Kaya po in case ma-invite po, ready ko na mga docs for de facto.. Sige po, update ko po timeline namen.. Thank you po.

Thanks so much for sharing this thread. My de facto partner and I, so far, have the ff documents:

notarized statements from both partners
notarized statements from family members and friends
notarized statement from my building manager that she was aware that my partner was living with me on some occasions
travel itineraries/online tickets for joint travels
deed of sale of motor vehicle under both our names
registration of motor vehicle under both our names
bank certificate of (2) joint accounts
certification from telecom service provider listing 2 accounts under my name, one for the use of my partner (he is indicated as the authorized person)
various pictures of trips together and/or occasions with friends and family

However, I forgot to have the stamps in our passports for our joint trips abroad certified. Is this very critical evidence? Because if so, I will have them certified right away. Also, should I submit my application already (complete with payment) tonight, can I still attach additional documents?

@mariamorris - your documents looks complete.. the travel stamps on passport is not really necessary.. we just submitted it because we don't have other documents such as joint accounts..

i have some comments:

no. 3 - "on some occassions" , ifor sure you know that the requirements should be atleast 12 months?

no.9 - we put comments/remarks on each picture, like what, when, where and who are these people in the picture.. especially if they are family members who made the statements in no. 2.. so it looks like a scrap book.. 😉 haha.. so we submitted around 20pictures, i was able to fit it in 3-4 pages..

overall .. mukhang okay naman lahat.. goodluck..

On your last question, this was already answered in another thread.. but yes, you can attach documents after payment... i organize mo na mga documents mo para walang hassle during attachment process..

Hi @lock_code2004! Yeah, we do know that the requirement is at least 12 months but we did not live together the entire time because of work. He is a freelancer and can afford to stay with me for months at a time, but there were still fairly many times that he had to travel to the province for work. But we explained that clearly naman in all our statements because we would not want to mislead DIAC. In fact, we even stated that last July (the relationship was at least 17 months then), he had to go back to the province because his work demanded him to but that our distance has not been permanent. But I did my research and read somewhere that circumstances like this may be considered if there are other strong evidences of a joint life committed to a lifetime partnership and I am hoping that our documents clearly display this. I really, really hope so. praying

Anyway.... 20 pictures? I think the PDF file where I merged our pictures contains at least double that. Shucks. I hope di naman yun negative for us. crossing fingers

yeah.. i think the statement of family and friends and enough proof of joint financial accounts will be able to show that..

okay lang na sobra ang documents.. wag lang kulang..

so far wala nmn sila hinihinging other documents sa amin..

Ask ko lang po sir and maam kung lahat ng docs ay kailangan na notarized? Including pictures and other proofs?

And nag-apply at nagbayad napo kami for visa 189 application last monday morning pero hindi pa kami nag-aattach ng mga documents.. Ok lang po kaya na after mga 5 days pa po iaattach ang mga docs? Need ko pa po kase ipanotary..

ung mga personal statement/pictures/travel together hindi ko na pina-notarized.. tinanggap naman ng CO.. colored scan ang inattached ko, and we used blue ballpen to show na original copy un mga signatures..
other than that, yes, lahat po eh naka notarized..
ang alam ko, you can attach docs anytime.. kahit hanggang yung time na magka-CO kana.. yung iba nga po may issue sa uploading (system error).. so hinintay na lang nila ang CO, and they sent the file thru email sa CO..

@lock_code2004 - Sir, yun pong mga proof of same roof like invitations, tenancy agreement - kailangan po kayang notarized? Salamat po sir..
