I got this reply from SCU Thank you for your interest in studying the Graduate Certificate in Australian Nursing (Education Program for Internationally Qualified Nurses [EPIQ]) at Southern Cross University.
The program is designed for internationally qualified registered nurses who wish to practice as a registered nurse in Australia. This course prepares students to gain registration within Australia through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
• You can study this course at our Gold Coast campus
• The next available intake is June 2018
• The cost of the program is $14,600.00*
• Areas of study include; contextual nursing and health; professional practice; critical thinking and analysis; provision and coordination of care; and collaborative and therapeutic practice.
Visit the how to apply page for more information and to find out if you need an Agent to apply.
Applicants for admission to this course will require a letter of determination from AHPRA. Information for internationally qualified nurses and midwives is available on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia website.
The course is 15 teaching weeks which includes an eight-week professional placement that enables candidates to consolidate theoretical learning and build upon their professional practice. The additional time in the course length allows time for grades to be received and for you to finalise your AHPRA registration.
Professional experience placements require students to fulfil certain prerequisites prior to attending their placement (e.g. a working with children check and National Police Certificate). Before applying for this course, it is important that you understand what these requirements are.
