Hi Guys!

Baka may alam kayong opening sa HR or Recruitment sa Melbourne? 1 month na kami dito at napakarami ko ng rejection emails. Pero currently, 2 weeks na kong sales associate sa Optus.

Share ko lang pala. aside from updating your linkedin account, make sure you also update your seek account. In my case, hindi sya kasingdami ng information sa linkedin account ko pero dahil may seek account ako, may mga recruiters na nagccheck ng resume ko and tinatawagan ako. hehee Kaya try nyo rin pagandahin seek account nyo. You will never know who will come across your resume. Take note na hindi updated resume ko hehehe Hindi pa nakalagay local experience ko pero naging interested sila sa profile ko. But I did not pursue the opportunity any further kase gusto ko muna tapusin yung contract kung asan ako ngayon.

Pag nasa circulation na ang resume nyo, be it in linkedin or seek, may mga recruiters ang in the future bigla na lang ccontact sa inyo from time to time. hehehe Kaya sa simula lang tlga medyo challenging. Pero once nakabreak in ka na, magsasawa kayo sa trabaho dito. hehehe But then again depende pa rin (may mga job cuts/redundancy kase sa mga companies from time to time din..) Always seek God's will and pray for the right direction and decision. 🙂

Linkedin Account = Too many Private Private message for the same position

Recruiters will come to you not the other way around ....

I recently been hired through my linkedin account ...

If you are going to put on a profile make sure your STRONG qualifications is there plus a nice photo inde yung mukhang parang natutulog lang or pang ID na photo

Hello PinoyAU peeps.. Chip in ako sa jobhunting experience ko.. Sa tingin ko ito ang best things to have sa jobhunt

A lot of prayers!
Tailored CV (as in lahat ng itemized requirement ng employer eh nandun sa CV mo at yun ang unang una nila mababasa sa CV mo)
Sincere cover letter (Write it like you mean it! Yung letter ko sa kanila simple lang format, intro, body, and pleasantries then close pero it says my high interest sa job and what I have to offer)
Network. (May kakilala ako na pinoy working for the company na gusto ko applyan, tinanong ko ng tinanong yung nature ng work and tips na din kung anu dapat isagot sa interview - for example, kahit na hindi ako madalas umakyat ng tore, sabi ko comfy ako mag work at heights 🙂 )

Timeline: applied 17-Aug, interview 23-Aug, first day 27-Aug.

Good luck sa inyo sana makatulong ito sa jobhunt 🙂

dipende siguro kung anong visa ang hawak mo. kasi ako under student visa kahit 10yrs ang experience ko as customer service sa pinas hindi ako makahanap ng work sa ganun. kaya ngayon i'm working as food beverage attendant sa isang coffee shop

@garfield17 ..yes ur right..depende din sa visa na hawak m.. lalo na pag temporary visa lg ang hawak m medyo mahirap maghanap ng work ksi most of the employer here hinahanap is ung my permanent visa.

Medyo mahaba ang kwento ko.. Iklian ko na lang..

I've been requesting to be transferred here in our perth office since last year.. Pero wla daw open position for me.. Ang hula ko they dont want to pay for my relocation..

I took a vacation leave (1 yr) from US, para pwde alo bumalik in case wala ako mahanap na work dito sa perth.

2 days pagdating ko dito...pumunta ako dito sa office namin at sinabi ko i want to work here..ininterview ako ng Hr at ng ibang managers.. They said they will arrange something.. I never heard from them .. Until after a month...

Last week they called me and offered a position.. 😉 so i started today sep9..

Ang problema, nakausap ko rin ang isa pang competitor company, and they will talk to me on friday for another position na alam kong mas mataas ang offer...

So should i continue with company A, na dito na ako work for more than 5 yrs.... Or company B mas mataas job grade pero panibagong start at walang kasiguruhan kung magugustuhan ko dito...

Note: company A is no.1 in the industry, while B is no.4 in terms of revenue/operations/number of employees...

So help me God!!

My take on this, if the pay difference is very high more than 15% increase, I may consider Company B - however if less than 15% increase, I will slug it out with my old company and take comfort in the fact that I know the patakaran there.

agree with TasBurFoot. Also, pag-aralan mo mabuti alin sa 2 ung inaalagaan mga employees nila, as well as san ka may mas matututunan. tska mas ok din if di ka na mag-rretool. :-) try mo kaya sabihin sa company A na ngooffer si B ng mas malaki? hehe

Oil and Energy companies ba ito? Sa IT ka rin ba? :-)

@stolich18 - naalala ko, may master's thesis is with Co A.. I analyzed the career patterns of top 200 management and 200 ramdom employees... And manority of them started and stayed with the company.. It's one of the reason why i want to stay..

Nag-aalangan din ako sa manager na naghire sa akin.. Sbi nya nilakad daw nya mabuti itong position na ito for me...

Ikaw na ang bukod na pinagpala sa lalaking lahat! Lol. Congrats sa problema mo na sana ay maging problema din ng nakararami, kasama n ko. Hehehe.

My take, minsan hindi lahat nattapatan ng sweldo. Look after the working environment and welfare of the employee. Remember, almost half of your life eh sa work mo ini-spend. Pero kung 50% ang pay diff eh ano pang pinapatumpik tumpik mo?! Hehehe.

hello papa @lock_code2004...ang sarap ngman ng problema mo...kung ako naman ang tatanungin mo, setting practicality aside and following your heart, feeling ko mas better sa Co. A ka since yung loyalty mo is dito na and gamay mo na din ang industry nila dito...eventually, tataas din naman sahod mo sa mga raise, promotion, or sa negotiations mo eh...and ikaw na din nagsabi na no.1 si Co. A so mas malaki ang stability rate nya sa economy...you are safer sa ganitong companya... 😉
