@katniss2015 Nag-apply ako sa NT last month. Pangdagdag sa financial evidence, nagsubmit din ako ng mga life insurance policy certificates na nakapangalan sa akin. Naka-indicate dun kung magkano yung cash value ng insurance pag tinerminate ko ngayon. Hindi ko alam kung acceptable yun pero at least alam nila na may additional sources of cash.

@maguero thanks for the info. I will also include mine pati shares of stocks certificate. Btw, nag apply ka pala last month, ano po ba occupation nyo sir? may feedback na po ba si NT sa inyo or acknowledgment man lang? Ilang weeks daw po bago malaman ang result?

@katniss2015 May acknowledgement e-mail kaagad pagkasubmit. Nakalagay na doon yung reference number mo. Mukhang mga 2.5 to 3 months bago makakuha ng response kasi sa ibang forum yung mga nagsubmit kaagad ng July 1, mid-September nakakuha ng decision.

@rayortinez tama po ang agency na last 10 years lang ang maccredit. Ang mahirap sa 489 is maiinvite lang po kapatid nyo kung di naubos sa 189 invites ang allocation per round.

If you look at the points test table, skilled employment in the last 10 years lang tinitignan..syempre they want to be assured na skilled ka pa din sa nominated occupation mo when you apply kaya makakakuha ka lang ng maximum points sa work experience for 8-10 years relevant employmemt. Mas matagal ang invites for 489 family sponsored visa kasi limited ang slots, you can check the numbers sa details of invitation rounds sa dibo website. Parang around 10 lang yata every fortnight.

You can ask your assessing body to include advice on claiming points( i think for an additional fee) pero in your example, its unlikely na macredit. If you graduated in civil engineering and your work experience is in mechanical engineering, the points you can claim for Education is the equivalent points for Bachelor degree. Your assessing body now determine whether you can claim all your work experience in mechanical engineering. Since hindi related ang dalawa, they will require minimum number of years experience in mechanical engineering before they can assessed you as deemed skilled. Ibig sabihin bawas yon sa number of years work experience you can claim towards points test..Example..you have 10 years work experience as mechanical engineer pero nagtapos ka ng civil, tapos ang requirement ng assessing body is min 3 years work experience as ME to be deemed skilled, you can only claim 7 years as work experience towards the points test.

Thats how they assess since 3 years ago..Civil Enginnering degree ko pero iba ang nominated occupation but during my application, hindi pa sila nagbabawas ng work experience...it was only implemented by all assessing bodies 3 years ago

Question... hope you can help me guys.

I have a pending SC 489 application and a tourist visa na mag-expire in November. I plan to go to AU this December with friends just for the holidays lang sana. Can I apply for another Tourist visa or not allowed?

I've read this but not sure kung if it fully applies to me kasi mainly as a tourist lang naman intention ko to travel..

@iamvee hello. Nag lodge ako nung sep 28 lang. Ikaw ba? Ako din mga end of nov or first week of dec plan ko apply ng tourist visa. Plan ko mag new year sa oz 🙂 though unemployed ako now. Pag nag apply ako ng tourist visa ok lang naman na wala ako maprovide na COE no? The usual docs lang mapoprovide ko. Twice na ko nagrant ng tourist visa sa oz and ive been there few times. Hoping magrant ako tourist visa kahit unemployed. Pero syempre mas hoping ako na ma approve ang visa 489 🙂

yep, within the last 10 yrs lang na work experience lang ang valid.

You can get invited for 489 kahit 60 points lang. it depends sa nominated occupation I think. May certain occupations na capped kc sobrang dami ng nsa queue like accountants, IT, electronics engineer, etc. wherein walang maiinvite na 489 kapag na-exhaust na ng 189 ung places.

If yung occupation mo ay wala dun sa capped list of occupations you have a chance to get invited for 489 with 60 points kc konti ang applicants at immigration has allocated certain number of places per occupation not just in total.

Example, if you submit an EOI for social worker as your nominated occupation, most likely you will get invited even you only have 60 points for 489 kc konti lang ang applicants ng occupation na yun. If accountant ung occupation, you will not get an invite with 60 points either 189 or 489 kc sangkatutak ang applicants na may mataas na score.

For 489, someone got invited with 60 points and that person submitted his/her EOI on 19-September-2017.

If you are more comfortable to use a migration agent go for it.

29 Aug ako nag lodge at frontloaded all Docs so hoping na sana tuloy-tuloy yung assessment and decision 🙂

@iamvee hello. Oo nga. Basta ok naman ung proof of funds pede na. Makikita naman nila na bumalik ako sa previous trips at hindi nag TNT dun.hihi Nauna ka sa kin ng one month sa visa lodge. Praying na ma grant visa natin soon 🙂 all docs uploaded na din sa kin. Sana DG tyo para no need to apply tourist visa.haha God bless sa tin 🙂

Hello everyone, I just lodge my 489 FS last 4 of Oct and Immediately got my Bridging Visa A which will take effect on 22 of Dec. Medyo sad ng konti kasi sinagad ko talaga ung waiting time for 189 kaso pinaasa lang ako beshy.. I lodge my EOI last August 7 2017, Then next day got my invite for 489 FS. So nag wait pa ko ng nearly 60 days bago ako nag apply for my 489.

Anyway going back sa thread for everyone asking po sa messaging me. 489 Family sponsored po means you can go to any state or territory as long as it is a designated area:

Registered Nurse 70 points. Non pro rata po ako. Snwerte lng dn pero ang inaantay ko tlga nun 189 kc para PR na agad pero sabi nga ung plan natin sometimes hindi talaga nasusunod k may mas mgnda plan si god. Hehe best of luck po.

Hi guys! Ask lang po ng question - as subclass 489, ano po ba ang medical insurance preference nyo? Yung covered sana pati ang pregnancy para in case mag deliver ang wife sa AU ay covered? And how much monthly? Hopefully someone can share their advice. Thank you
