@katlin924 thanks and congratz to you...

@alnr if AUS citizen na bro mo then i believe you should choose subclass 176 :)

    Application Timeline:

    August 22, '11- Collate Documents
October 9, '11 - Submitted ACS Skills Application
October 12, 11 - Documents with Assessor, then next day Stage 4 of 5 :)

@alnr, same situation tayo, me kapatid din akong aus citizen. but i applied for 175 since abot naman un points ko at saka same lng din naman ung cost
ksi pag 176 ka, kelangan mo magstay ng 2 years sa state na kung nasan un brother mo. ang mahirap dun if un field ng work mo ay mas in-demand sa ibang state.
in my case, sa ibang state ako nakakuha ng trabaho, hindi same state sa kapatid ko.

    @kashichi, thanks :D

@bonzi, many many thanks sa input sir. malaking tulong sa tulad ko yung case mo. isang advantage lang din sa 176 is that meron ka agad matutuluyan pag-dating and not worry where to stay or how to start things sa bagong lugar.

Hi @jimbob! i think what @alnr meant was that if he pushes thru with 176 he has the option to stay with his brother when he arrives but then again as what @bonzi mentioned you can still have this option with 175 dahil walang restrictions ang 175 unlike the other visa types... just my thoughts... correct me if i'm wrong guys

    Time Line:
    09-08-2011: ACS received physical documents
    10-13-2011: ACS result (PIM3, Group A)

@jimbob, tama po si ylai. what i'm referring sa matutuluyan is yung brother ko :D

@ylai, you have a point there

so basically, 176 (family sponsored) doesn't really help your application for general skilled migration kasi wala din naman siyang points etc...

@alnr - im not really sure how the 176 point system works, the only thing i noticed is it's more complicated than the 175 process because your sponsor will need to do some paper works on their end...

@ylai, the way i understand it parang walang additional points eh. ito nkalagay sa DIAC

"A permanent visa for people unable to meet the Skilled – Independent requirements. Applicants must be either sponsored by an eligible relative living in Australia or nominated by a participating state or territory government. Applicants must pass a points test."

i'm still reading how the 176 can help an applicant just in case he did not meet the skilled-independent requirements.

If this is not true, ano lang pong docs ang dapat ipapa authenticate sa DFA?

Maraming salamat po and God Bless.

@jimboy I mean @jimbob, for my ACS I submitted Certified True Copy since they require a copy of the documents. For DIAC, you may opt to have it authenticated, but if you will be applying online, makakadagdag siya sa page count (I believe may limit). For my case, I will just scan my docs, di ko na paauthenticate, di ko din papa CTC (since scanned lang namn siya). Pag humingi ng original saka ako papa CTC, pero di ko na paparibbon(DFA etc), notaryo lang na certified true copy would do (I believe).

San mo nabasa yung authentication part? Can we have the link? Thanks!

Hi to everyone! I checked the list of skilled occupations and my Bachelor degree course is included there (Secondary School Teacher) but then my teaching experiences were mostly spent in primary school level (which isn't included in the list), is it still okay to apply as Secondary Teacher although I have different teaching level experience? Thanks po in advance for whoever will reply.

@gemini23, that's a tricky situation you have there :( I would say apply for visa if the assessment body accredits your work experience as relevant but then again, skills assessment is rather expensive :-S

You might want to check ANZCO (correct me if I'm wrong), you should find a detailed description of "Secondary School Teacher" and from there, try to see if what you are doing now is closely similar to their standards.

@mimaahk, here are some advantages na nakikita ko:
medyo limited pa knowledge ko since di ko pa naeexperience yung online application, I haven't started to fill-up the online application form.
    1. convenient
    2. you can receive your TRN faster(once your payment has been confirmed) than a "paper"(courier) based application. since processing of your paper will only start once it has reached the concerned department. though few days lang ang difference or weeks.
    reference : http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/standards/2.1.htm

    3. cheap/saves money(you are right) (even though I know we are all willing to pay or spend for any application-related services like pagpapanotaryo sa lawyer, courier service). since scanned copy lang ang required nila, di na needed ang CTC at courier service.

Feel free to add. hehe :)
    4.

What about advantages of paper-based application, sino po my inputs. :)

di lahat ng visa ay puedeng i lodge online. Yung mga permanent resident visa ay lodge by courier while yung mga short stay visa like 457 visa or tourist either online or courier. cheers

yeah your right 175 visa can apply online, by post or by courier.

ito nga pala ang link: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/175/how-to-apply.htm#processing

but not all visa application can apply online. to all applicant better to do self research in immi.gov.au... cheers

Mas efficient po talaga ang online lodging. You can even send a query to DIAC as to how your application is progressing and they will gladly respond. Whereas if you did yours by courier, you have to contend with the logistics delay brought by such means :)

In the case of state sponsorship, the processing time mainly depends on the state you are applying. Yung kaibigan ko po sa NSW nagpasponsor, inabot ng halos 1 taon bago nirelease ang results, so take that into consideration as well.
