489 Family Sponsored Visa

Good day!

I’m new to this forum and I would like to ask for your help for enlightenment.

I’m a Psychology graduate and my sister will sponsor me; she’s living in WA.

My work experiences are in HR (which is not included in 489 visa).

That’s why I’m planning to work muna dito sa Philippines as SPED teacher for like 2 years for experience since SPED teacher is included in 489 subclass.

My questions are:
1. Accepted ba ang Psychology degree ko sa 489 visa kung mag apply ako for SPED teacher sa Aus?
2. If hindi accepted ang degree ko, may alternative ba, like ok na ba kung mag take na lang ako ng teaching units? Or diploma, etc.?
3. My partner’s occupation is included in 489 family sponsored visa. Pwede bang yung partner ko ang i-sponsor ng kapatid ko? (Just in case hindi pasok qualifications ko).

Please help, I am so confused. Your answers are very much appreciated!

@dianesulayao The main requirements to be able to submit an EOI are to meet the minimum 65 points requirement of DHA, have a positive skills assessment for your nominated occupation, and get the minimum points required for IELTS or PTE.

You can check the assessing authority of your occupation here
    https://archive.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/work/work/skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists/combined-stsol-mltssl

Aralin mo ng maigi yung requirements nila for a positive skills assessment.

Once you have all the requirements to submit an EOI, I suggest you don't limit your options to the family sponsored 489 visa since the points requirement is very high and the slots are very limited. Just apply for all possible visa options para mas mataas ang chance na ma-invite.

@maguero Thank you so much! You’ve been a great help! Will surely do more research and check other options. I thought kasi guaranteed na as long as ma-meet ang required points if sponsored ng family.

@dianesulayao This fiscal year DHA has been giving out only 10 invitations per invitation round for the 489 family sponsored visa and they haven't invited anyone with less than 80 points. You can still submit an EOI for this stream but also keep your options open to the 189, 190, and 489 state sponsored visas. Pero right now the important thing is to meet all the requirements so you can submit an EOI.

    Good luck!
